~The Wheels on the Bus don’t turn but when your toddler wants a set up he can sit in and wants it now, it works! 😂 Connetix Base Plates make large setups super quick and easy, and I reinforced with large squares so it wouldn’t fall over when he knocked it about. Lasted a good 30 minutes 🚀

Connetix restocked - and new Geometry Set included as well!

We’re loving these hexagons here - They make unusual builds with the added bonus of stability compared to using large squares ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

The newly launched Wobbel Decks and Pillows now in stores and online 🎉

The velvety velour is so soft and touchable, and the mat itself is firm yet cushy.

The practical mum also loves that the covers can be unzipped and machine-washed, because life happens 🤣

Back to school Monday! Hope the kiddies aren’t having a hangover from the week-long break 🏖 Mondays are always a little harder for us at drop off 💔

On a side note I sometimes set up my son’s dolls in random situations for him to discover and join in. I also love styling and dressing these dolls up 😍

One weekend left of the March holidays! Cricket is packing for a staycay with his best buddy Coral. Can’t wait for a real vacation with this See Ya Suitcase 😍

The details are so delightful, complete with an inner compartment and a little luggage tag. It’s made of recycled PET so it’s environmentally friendly as well as durable and water resistant - so much to love about it!

What’s your style? ❤️🧡💛💚

While you can certainly use your fingers, the Olli Ella hair brush is really indispensable for sleeking back stray hair!

Same same but different: comparison of a Dream Dinkum (Cricket) and a classic Dinkum (Sprout). Dream Dinkums have different-coloured shoes, funky eye colour and longer hair for styling :)

Both available in our shop and web store, details in bio!

A lesson in child-led play - just before this photo he’d kicked down my elaborate setup, declaring “this is NOT NICE” and only wanted to keep this simple loop 😅

Turns out he likes to sit in the middle of the action, and the fancy slopes kept getting misaligned because he’s too rough, while cross roads kept getting kicked when he ran through.

After this I brought out some dolls so they could pretend-board the trains and ‘visit grandma’, then some animals so they could all go to the zoo.

Guess the elaborate setups are for myself, and I’m learning that what looks interesting (and instagrammable lol) might not be as inviting to play with.

He doesn’t have the fine motor control yet and gets frustrated when things fall, and he also hates getting help lol.

So for parents of toddlers struggling with their kids playing independently without frustration, i feel you! Lol. Will try to work on simpler setups my kid actually engages with rather than cool ones, watch this space!

Our guide to Pikler’s triangles!

Curious about the Pikler, or already have your mind set on one? These sturdy climbing frames are great for building toddlers’ confidence and developing important motor skills.

What ages is it good for? 8 months to around 4 years, or older depending on the child’s interest and skills.

What are the steps to a child conquering the Pikler?
1. Climb up
2. Come back down (harder than it looks!)
3. Climb to the top and bring one leg over to straddle
4. Bring other leg over and come down backwards

First of all, safety. Piklers should always be used on a mat or non-slip surface, and children should not be left unattended. The aim is to not help them so they go at their own pace, but be near in case they ask for help or slip.

Things to note when choosing a Pikler:

1. Safety (again!):
- The Pikler should ideally be safety certified, meaning the wood and stains are non-toxic and it has been tested to withstand the stated weight.

- Gap between rungs should be either too narrow for the toddler’s body to fall through or wide enough for the head to pass through to avoid strangulation if the child falls in.

- Nordic countries have very strict standards and piklers taller than 65cm (unfolded) must be fixed to the ground to avoid toppling over, so their piklers are mainly smaller.

- Ergonomics: usually the more upright it is, the easier for younger toddler as their weight won’t be leaning forward.

Gaps between rungs should be even (my 16mo used to get stuck in the wider gap connecting the top of the reconfigurable Pikler 😅)

- Up the Challenge: The fancy reconfigurable ones are better for older toddlers. You can also combine with a rocker or sofa to form an obstacle course!

Lastly, the Pikler is so versatile and can be used as a fort, and the ramp can be used for ball runs or cars as well!

I know the Wobbel Original is the most popular size because it can be used for much longer, but we switched to the Starter because watching my then-23mo balance on his own was priceless 💕

The Original was too large and heavy for him to control, and he mainly sat on it to rock back and forth. This smaller, lighter version really gave him confidence. He can also easily drag it around and incorporate it in his play.

It’s no slouch either and can hold up to 100kg (vs 200kg for the Original)!

DM to pre-order :)
