We tried Art Robbery by HELVETIQ and this one turned out to be way sneakier than we expected. 🎨💎 You play as thieves dividing up the loot after a big heist, but the real challenge is keeping it. Everyone’s out to sn**ch treasures from each other while secretly collecting alibis to prove they weren’t the mastermind. 👀

The rules are super simple, yet every card play feels tense. Do you grab the biggest pile of loot now and risk it being stolen, or play it safe with alibis so you don’t get caught in the end? The back-and-forth stealing makes every round feel cheeky and unpredictable.

Games are short and chaotic in the best way, and it’s hilarious watching your hard-earned stash vanish right before the final scoring. 😂

Compact, easy to teach and full of “gotcha” moments. Art Robbery is a fun little filler that works perfectly for groups who enjoy a mix of luck, timing and playful sabotage.

🐦 Birdy Trivia Time! 🐦

The Japanese Robin may be small in size, but it’s big on charm. With its vibrant orange face and chest, paired with a sweet melodic call, this shy forest dweller is often heard before it's seen. Found mainly in Japan and parts of East Asia, it prefers the quiet of dense woodlands where it forages for insects and berries.

This striking songbird also carries a symbolic meaning in its native country. Do you know what it represents in Japanese culture?

We got to try Jakarta Traffic by Simon Schmieder (@/bule.sopan on IG) during Asian Board Games Festival Malaysia and were genuinely impressed by the thoughtful, intricate design!

At first glance, the game looks a little overwhelming, but once you lock in on your delivery destination, everything starts to fall into place. You play as Ojek drivers (motorbike taxis), weaving through Jakarta’s famously chaotic traffic to complete deliveries. Every tile can be rotated to form new paths, which adds tons of depth. No surprise it took Simon two years to design!

For players prone to decision paralysis, Simon included a clever “teleport” mechanic. Just roll 2 x D6 dice to get a random set of coordinates and land there instantly.

We also appreciated little touches like being able to connect with other players to recharge your in-game phone battery. There’s even a night mode for those who want a tougher challenge. We didn’t get to try it, but heard it’s seriously intense!

The students and teachers from Naval Base Secondary came to us with a prototype board game they had designed, based on the themes of deep sea exploration, maths, and algebra.

We had the pleasure of working with them to refine the design and turn their idea into a fully produced board game the students can proudly call their own. Just look at them enjoying the fruits of their creativity! 🎉

We're proud to have supported the design and production process to make this learning journey even more meaningful.

🐦 Birdy Trivia Time! 🐦

The Eurasian Oystercatcher migrates from Russia to Southern China during the winter and is among the largest wading birds in the region. It measures around 40 to 45 cm in length with a wingspan of 80 to 85 cm. Its strong, broad red bill is perfect for cracking open molluscs like mussels or digging for earthworms. Interestingly, despite its name, oysters make up only a small part of its diet.

This impressive oystercatcher also holds the title of national bird in one particular nation. Can you guess which one?

We tried Startups by Oink Games Europe and wow, this tiny box packs way more tension than we expected. It’s a fast, clever game where you play as investors trying to gain majority in quirky startup companies and cash in when others invest in your turf. 📈💸

The gameplay is super easy to pick up, but every move feels calculated. Do you reveal your cards early to scare others off, or play it cool and sneak your way to a payout? With anti-monopoly chips, bluffing, and a bit of push-your-luck, it becomes a tight little battle of reads and timing.

We loved how quick each round was (about 20 minutes) and how satisfying it felt. It’s one of those games where you immediately want a rematch because you just know you could’ve played it better. 😂

Slick visuals, compact design, and easy to bring around—definitely a great pick for game night if you like small games with big strategy.
