If you have a P6 or Sec 4 child — this is important. DSA applications open around May 6–7. That means there are only about 8 weeks left to prepare a strong submission. Many parents think DSA Music is just about playing a difficult piece. But the real word is presentation. It’s about presenting your child’s skills, experiences and musical contributions in a way that shows how they can contribute to the school’s music life. “Opposites” is one of the Basic Concepts children need to understand in order to follow instructions and be specific in their communication. Understanding this concept is vital and helps in the academic sphere, in terms of listening, reading, writing, speaking and mathematics.
