🌏✨ Happy Earth Day!

Meet Owlbert πŸ¦‰πŸ’š - the mascot of The Circular Classroom.

Inspired by the owl - a symbol of wisdom, education, and foresight - Owlbert reminds us to think ahead for our planet and future generations. His name is a playful nod to Albert Einstein, and celebrates creativity, curiosity, and purpose.

Even better? Our Owlbert plushie is handcrafted from pre-loved school uniforms ♻️. So we are turning what was once worn in classrooms into a symbol of sustainability and possibility.
Owlbert was named in 2025 by students from the SMU-X Teambuilding and Leadership course led by Prof Hanoi Lok. Arielle Lynn Huang Jing Yi, Patricia Kristiani Boy, Sarah Ng Qiu Hong, Tan Zuyi Joey, Vamsidhari Wadhwani and Philip Lee Chien Yao: thank you for bringing Owlbert to life.

We are proud to be an industry partner of Singapore Management University and to share what purpose-driven collaboration can create. 🌱

Here is to a year of creativity, circularity, and community impact.

πŸ™ Big thank you to our seniors from the THK Active Ageing Centres at Cassia and Kaki Bukit who helped with the artwork.

Today is International Cancer Day.

At , we usually talk about sustainable consumption and circular systems. But on days like today, we would like to highlight that sustainability is also about care - for people, for families, and for those navigating periods of illness and uncertainty.

The fight against cancer is not carried by healthcare alone. It involves every sector of society, and each sector contributes in its own way: through medicine, research, education, community support, or small, thoughtful acts.

Our first collaboration with the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) began in early 2024. The pouch in the photo was made from NCCS nurse uniforms that are no longer in use, repurposed with the intention to create something practical and quietly supportive. 🫢

Each year, approximately 90–120 new cases of cancer are diagnosed in children under 15 years old in Singapore. While childhood cancer is rare, its impact reaches far beyond the patient - into families, friendships and classrooms, and reminds us how closely connected our communities are.

We wish every patient and family strength and support as they continue their care journey. β™₯️ To the nurses, doctors, clinicians, and support staff - thank you for being there for patients and families when it matters most. πŸ™

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Happy to be part of Walk for Work 2025!

Today, The Circular Classroom (TCC) joined Walk for Work 2025, a flagship event by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) Foundation.

Walk for Work celebrates inclusive employment, and brings together individuals, organisations and partners who create meaningful work opportunities for vulnerable communities β€” a cause close to our hearts.

Over 1,000 participants took part in the walk at Marina Bay, graced by Singapore President HE Tharman Shanmugaratnam as Guest of Honour. Business leaders and employees from more than 40 companies took part in the walk.

We were also delighted to meet Janet Ang, Chairperson of SBFF, and to reconnect with Audrey Williams from Singapore Association for Mental Health with whom we have been collaborating since 2023 to champion creativity, wellbeing, and inclusion through our circular initiatives.

Together, we continue to show that environmental and social sustainability go hand in hand. πŸ’š
