Senior Bus Captain Jiang Hong was waiting for his bus at the Hougang Interchange when an elderly gentleman turned to him to ask for help to board the bus. Jiang Hong saw that he was frail as he struggled even to take a few steps forward. Without hesitation, Jiang Hong reached out to piggyback the elderly uncle up the bus while another Bus Captain assisted him.

Unbeknown to the elderly uncle, Jiang Hong intentionally missed his alighting stop so that he could continue to be of help; behaving like they were headed in the same direction.

Eventually, the bus arrived at the uncle’s destination and Jiang Hong helped him down the bus.

Although Jiang Hong was not on duty then, this did not stop him from showing kindness and going the extra mile to help someone in need. He had acted as the uncle’s sunshine when his sky was grey. We salute you, Jiang Hong, for exemplifying our CARES values even in your personal space. 😊
