Learning comes alive through meaningful experiences ❤️🧸📖
As part of their Primary 2 Chinese Language unit on “Occupations” (职业), students from classes 2.3, 2.4 and 2.7 had the special opportunity to visit our Principal’s office on 11 and 12 May.
Through an engaging and interactive storytelling session by Ms Yoong featuring 《美以美文史馆奇遇记》 — a Chinese picture book co-authored by our 2020 Creative Writing class — the girls gained a deeper appreciation of the diverse occupations within a school community, while also getting to know our newly appointed Principal better.
From discovering her favourite colour and animals to hearing about her experiences and reflections as a Principal, the students were filled with curiosity and enthusiasm. They especially enjoyed spotting the many adorable teddy bears and meaningful keepsakes around her office, and learning the stories behind them.
Most of all, this meaningful interaction reminded our students that every occupation comes with stories, experiences and opportunities to serve others.

Hey MG! 💛💙 On 15 May, we held our IP Symposium with the theme Master. Grow. Serve: From Learning to Impact. 📚🥰Through various learning journeys, workshops and even sharings by our own girls, our IP students explored different ways in which they could hone their skills, grow in character and impact the community. Special shout out to our Keynote Speaker Mrs Elaine Teo, the founder of Oatbedient, who shared her journey and insights into entrepreneurship to an enthusiastic audience.👩🏻‍💼🤗

♻️“I had a whale of a time learning about composting and how the black soldier fly larvae and food waste form a continuous cycle!” - Yong Faye (1I) on a sustainability learning journey to Tampines Park

🧪“The Year 4 IS Showcase provided valuable insights of the diverse topics and research explored by the upper sec students. An example was the fermenting kimchi project which studied the pH of fermented kimchi. I never realised IS could investigate such everyday items too!” - Ivette Kong (2O)

🗣️“The networking workshop taught us how to communicate appropriately in the corporate world and broaden our connections more proactively. I especially enjoyed the role-playing where we could test out our new-found knowledge on our friends!” - Jayna Lim (4T)

HEY MG🤩💕
On 13 May, our Student Leaders’ Investiture marked an important milestone for both the outgoing and incoming batches of student leaders, bringing both a sense of closure and a sense of new beginnings. It was a meaningful occasion that reflected the dedication and growth shown throughout their term of service, at the same time placing responsibility upon the next group of leaders.🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

The incoming student leaders were welcomed into a new chapter of service and leadership. They were encouraged to step forward with confidence and to continue building a school environment that is rooted in love and care.🫡🫵🏻
“This year’s Student Leaders’ Investiture was a memorable experience for me. Watching both my peers and juniors being officially invested as student leaders filled me with excitement for the journey ahead, especially knowing that we would be working together as one team.” ~Jia
Ying, 3O (HL)⚔️🎈

At the same time, the outgoing student leaders were recognised for the time and effort they gave to their roles, and for the many ways they have contributed to the school community.😎🫶🏼

“This year’s Student Leader Investiture was an eye opening experience and a significant milestone of my MG journey. It made me reflect on my term of service, and relationships fostered through the SL community. Watching my juniors invest made me swarm with pride, it was a sense of passing the baton on to the next generation of leaders with a heart to serve. Serving on the PSL board has truly been a blessing, and I wouldn’t be who I am today if not for this amazing opportunity that MG has granted me!” ~ Cheyenne, 4M (PSL)💥🧚‍♀️

This SLI stood as a reminder that leadership is not only about holding a position but also about serving others in love. May our Student leaders continue continue to lead with purpose, kindness and a strong sense of commitment to MGS!💓💓

Shining a light on the everyday learning moments across MGS. ✨

In April, our Primary 1 girls took part in “C.A.R.E.” — Community Appreciation & Respect for Everyone 💙💛

As part of this Applied Learning Programme, they welcomed different members of the MGS community into their classrooms to learn more about the people who help make school life possible each day. 🏫💫 From our security guards and librarians to our cleaners and even our Principal, the girls discovered that every role matters and every person has a story to share. 📚

The girls also learnt how to ask thoughtful questions, listen attentively and show appreciation. Through this experience, they grew in gratitude, curiosity and respect for the community around them. 💖

Here’s to celebrating the little moments of learning, connection and belonging that happen everyday at MGS! 🌟

Hey MG!🧜‍♀️🌟

From the 20th to 24th of April, our MGS swim team🏊‍♀️made WAVES in the pool, defending our Grand Slam title🏆for the 4th year running, coming out victorious in both B & C divisions! More than that, our wins weren’t only in the personal bests we hit 🥇or the trophies won but in the unforgettable memories, lesson learnt and invaluable experiences with our team. 🫂❤️

For many, this competition was also a chance to create long-lasting friendships and bond with our team! 😌🤝 With our teammates cheering us on and having fun on the pool deck, we all gave our best and swam our hardest! 🤗🤗

“This being my last NSG with MGSWIM, it felt special. I am really proud of how the team united and showed determination and team spirit. This would not have been possible without the support of our parents, teachers and friends. 🙆‍♀️❤️I hope this team will continue to work hard and bring MGSwim to greater heights!”💛💙 (Victoria Lim, 4R, Captain)

“It was definitely not an easy journey but through sheer hard work, determination and passion and with the support of our friends, family and teachers 🥳💪the MG swim team emerged as champions once again🤩We know this is just the beginning of many more achievements to come.”(Isabelle Woo, 3E)

Hey MG! 💙 Welcome to the Methodist Girls’ School (MGS) ASEAN Programme (MAP)!
At MGS, we believe learning goes far beyond the classroom. Through MAP, our girls journey across the ASEAN region, growing in knowledge, empathy, and global awareness as they connect both head and heart.

🔍 Research
We dive into the diverse political, economic, and social landscapes of our ASEAN neighbours; gaining deeper insights into real-world challenges.

🗣️ Interaction
It’s all about authentic connections! From gastronomical experiences to learning Bahasa Indonesia, and engaging with embassy representatives and international students.

🤝 Collaboration
Our girls work alongside partner schools across the region, building meaningful relationships through both online and in-person exchanges. In 2026, our MAP students connected with representatives from the Indonesian Embassy, the Thai Association, and ASEAN undergraduates studying in Singapore. They also gained valuable insights from SG Enterprise on ASEAN as a growing region of opportunity, and had the joy of hosting one of our Indonesian partner schools here in Singapore 🇸🇬

Through fun, friendship, and future-ready learning, we are nurturing confident, principled global citizens - ready to thrive in a rapidly changing world. 🌏✨
