to last weekend when Mel graduated from her Sparkle Sunday Sch to Shine, went for an Art trial and did her Trinity college group drama performance at JG as her class term finale.

It was an action packed weekend for all of us as usual.

As a cross-border business owner, a mentor, a visionary, an integrator, a mother, a wife, a daughter..., all these identities become so so so overwhelming.

I want to drop some roles...

I want to drop my responsibility as a business owner...

But I already "wash my head inside the water" and it's impossible for me to leave my men behind.

For all my life as a business owner, I started out always holding on to ONE THING.

I am here to touch lives for whoever come my path. I always believe in value-adding to my comrades, treat them as real person, not commodity and wanting them to find value working in my company, walking out w confidence and satisfaction...

I can talk the stories over and over again and I believe many business owners are jaded at some point, lost direction at some point, don't know what they are truly fighting for at some point.

But one thing for sure...
There is ONE IDENTITY that I could hang on that would give me peace and give me strength.

I'm a Child of God!

He will neither leave me (and my family) nor forsake me!

I am so precious in His sight that He knows how many hairs is on my kepala!

He is the Light and the Way.

Not until He approve, I shall not give up.
He will give me wisdom and strength as I seek.

Wanna record this thought on FB at this juncture of life, at this cross road like a typical mid-life crisis and yet knowing God will bring me through it all... 🙏🙏🙏

Without any of them in this photo, I would have been nothing!

The AKV Team poured out for one another our lives, our youth, our heart into this business and I'm so so so thankful for all of their support and making successes and going through failure together.

Honestly, we all had times that we misunderstood one another, irks one another or felt that it is no more possible to work together towards the same direction.

Ultimately, when the Call to Unite comes, we never fail to deliver and work together in such chemistry that could only be possible due to the strong bonds that was sincerely built up all these years.

Thanks for giving ourselves to one another and I don't and never will take it lightly.

And when I looked at the picture, each of them (except my sister) are prayers answered at some point in time when I needed that help and resources.

As for my Sis, could never imagine if she didn't start and journey with me all these years!


No man is an island...
An empire is never built alone...

Most Business Owners share to me their struggle to build a Team or to keep a Team.

I think the Key to Building a Power Team is to see each team member as our privilege and responsibility to add value to their life.

When we do that, our attitude and posture towards them will show sincerity, respect and gratitude.

That's where they will reciprocate and that Power Team will form.

A Master-Servant mindset yield worst result!

Back to Learning Drums! Level 3 now!

I stopped for 6 months as my classmate had a heart issue and wanted my support to wait for her to resume together.

I was afraid that it will be tough to pick up again...

There is such strong inertia to pick up the drum stick to practice again. I feel that I have to start from ground zero again 😱

I feel that I don't have time to commit to this hobby as life get back to normal and my business commitment get more demanding.

To my surprise, it didn't take long for me to hit the "hardest" rhythm that was taught and I continue to enjoy the coolness of playing drums again.

Through this, I learnt a few important lessons when it come to Business



1) When the Foundation is Strong, Rebuild again is Easy.

I was practicing quite a bit when I was in the first 2 level and trying to understand the scores instead of just wanting to play the songs. Everything starts w basics.

It goes the same for business, for relationship, for work etc.

When Covid hit, when I get back to basics, things rebounce quickly as the foundation is strong.

2) Just Do It! Don't overthink!

My huge inertia come from overthinking.

Thinking if I am going to enjoy still, thinking if I'm going to waste my precious time, the fear of restarting again!

I remembered when I first went to Malaysia to start up my retail business 18Years ago, I just went, cheong like an underdog and just do it with the "still can lose" feeling.

PTL that it turn out to be an 8-Figure Business with the support of many people who is and once in my team.

3) Nothing will go to waste!

While I thought I'm gonna start from level 0 again, there's muscles memory that bring me out of level 0 to level 2 in accelerated manner.

Do not undermine our business and life experiences, our skills, our trained potential over the years.

My Own Reflection on Business Mindset:

Don't throw away what we have built easily when we meet an obstable.
It is just a pit stop to help us realign, reevaluate and recharge.

Get back to basics and expect growth to be accelerated!

Come on!!!!!

It was a humbling night where I got a "snake queue" waiting for me and my team to arrive.

Even when we were early, they were much earlier.

While I thought they could get unhappy waiting, I was greeted with encouragements and smiles 😁😊!

I was a little nervous and felt bad about the queue...

Then one of them from the queue shouted, "Don't worry Sethrine, you can "hold" this situation. Take your time, we can wait!"
That is very calming!

Wow! What did I do to deserve such support!🤩

There were so many familiar faces and many that I only know by name and saw them for the first time physically after Covid.

A few of them expressed their delight with some of the business initiatives we implemented over the 2 yrs and I felt so encouraged to know that I'm on the right track.🙏

What a Wonderful Way to Close our Year with such Warmth, Support and Encouragement.
