National Day Celebrations @ PCS

This year’s National Day celebrations centred around the theme, “Majulah, Singapura! Go Beyond”. The activities organised provided students with an enriching and meaningful experience as they came together to celebrate Singapore’s birthday. The celebrations started with an Observance Ceremony, consisting of the Uniformed Groups. They were accompanied by the school’s brass band with songs that created a strong sense of pride and unity. It was followed by an exciting “Red Lions” showcase where students from Primary 4 flew their parachute creations as part of the collaboration between the Maker Education Team and National Day Team. Lastly, no celebration is complete without a concert! Our National Day concert featured a Talent Show of the top five performances, where students enthusiastically showcased their talents and a sing-along session by our teachers and students. Through these activities, students were given opportunities to appreciate Singapore’s achievements, celebrate our shared identity and realise the importance of going beyond, for our country.

𝐏𝐂𝐒 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

On 17 July 2026, our P4-6 students had a great time playing against one another in teams of 4 or 5 players over 10 different stations testing their skills, teamwork, game play and sportsmanship. They get to choose their choice of stations to challenge and accumulate points in exchange for various prizes of their choice. They had an enjoyable time and everyone were winners, taking home a variety of prizes! Through this Sports Carnival, our students learned new life skills, applied their knowledge and live out the values and 7 habits that they have picked up in school.

𝓡𝓗𝓓@𝓟𝓒𝓢

Our school commemorated Racial Harmony Day through a variety of engaging activities centred on this year's theme, “Our People, Our Tapestry” from 15 – 22 July 2026. During the extended recess, students enjoyed traditional games of yesteryear in the hall. They also participated in an SLS quiz and engaged in meaningful FTGP activities that deepened their appreciation of Singapore’s multicultural society. As they explored information boards showcasing the rich cultures and traditions that make up our shared national tapestry, students had fun interacting with one another and learning about Singapore’s diverse heritage. Through these experiences, they reflected on the importance of respect, understanding, and unity in our community.

Primary 6 Museum-based Learning (MBL): Asian Adventures

In Semester 1, our Primary 6 students embarked on a MBL experience at Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) to understand the cultural and historical ties that have influenced the countries in Southeast Asia; and explore how Singapore’s cultural heritage has evolved over time, influenced by the diverse mix of cultures.

What was life in Southeast Asia like in the past? Our students were guided by this key question as they journeyed with a mythical and magical aquatic beast, the Makara, to discover stories about objects and artefacts in ACM. They also underwent a simulated travel to different time periods in Southeast Asia by visiting different stations to explore what trade was like and learn about ways of life in the region.

Our students definitely enjoyed the hands-on activities and insightful sharing by the museum educators! This programme is aligned with the Primary 6 Character and Citizenship Education and Social Studies syllabi, and jointly designed with MOE.

Thank you to our invaluable parent volunteers who chaperoned the respective P6 classes too!
