Jackson I started his journey as a hobbyist DJ because he wanted to move beyond being a pure consumer of music to one who could create experiences for the people around him. While learning, he quickly found found comfort in being able to create without feeling pressure to be perfect, and within a safe space to express himself more freely (although for most part of the process, it’s really just him solo raving at 1am in his study room on a weekday night).

Trance will always be his first true love. Like many others, Above and Beyond shaped how he started enjoying electronic dance music. The melodic, euphoric tunes have carried him through the highs and lows of his journey thus far—putting him back together when broken, but also enhancing the joy of the moment.

Beyond trance, he’s also taken inspiration from melodic techno & house, Big Room, and definitely mainstream pop and rock. Sometimes he treats himself to hardstyle. He enjoys dabbling with different genres of electronic dance music in his set, knowing his loved ones would enjoy the sum of the parts as much as he does.

His DJ journey has only just begun, but he cannot wait to see where it leads to.
