The word โtingkatโ comes from the Malay language, meaning โtierโ or โlevel.โ Today, it has become a nostalgic symbol of home-cooked meals and Singaporeโs multicultural heritage.
The word โkuehโ (or kuih) also comes from Malay. While many of us grew up enjoying these traditional treats, they are becoming less familiar to todayโs children. Through this craft, we hope to introduce them to the stories behind these local favourites.
Come craft your own Tingkat of Love ็ฑ็ๅฑๅฑ้ฅญ็ and fill it with a delightful assortment of kueh.

Not every landmark is famous.
Some are tucked within our HDB void decks, a uniquely Singaporean communal space where simple mosaic-tiled tables became part of our everyday lives.
As older HDB estates are refurbished, many of these familiar tables are gradually disappearing.

Our Captured with Love ่ฎฐๅฟๆๆ็ธๆบ workshop! ๐ธ
Not only did the children craft their own cameras, they also got to try a real 35mm film camera. Their first instinct? To look for the screenโฆ but no matter how hard they searched, they couldnโt find one. ๐
