🎹✨ So proud of my student today!

She is playing better and better each week, and most importantly, she is becoming more confident in her playing. 💛

Today, she was able to follow the metronome steadily and maintain a consistent rhythm throughout her piece.
It is wonderful to see how much she has grown through her hard work and dedication. 🎵

I would also like to thank her mummy for her support and encouragement at home.

Her progress is a reflection of both her hard work and the love and support she receives at home. 🌷
Thank you for trusting me to be part of her musical journey.

Some children are not unwilling to learn.

They are just too afraid of making mistakes.

In my piano lessons,
I’m not in a hurry for them to “improve”.

I just want them to feel at ease first.

To feel calm.
To feel safe.
To feel okay being themselves 🎹💛

One day, my student suddenly told me:

“Teacher, I want to learn Raining Tacos 🌮”

I was so confused at first.

Tacos… raining from the sky?? 😂☁️

But then she sat down seriously at the piano, searched for it on the iPad, and showed me the song ~

At the beginning, her rhythm was quite messy,
and her hands couldn’t quite coordinate yet.

But little by little, she started finding the groove,
following the beat better, and slowly gaining confidence ✨

Today, when she finally played through the whole piece, you could really see that sense of achievement on her face 💛

Sometimes, children don’t need big goals to feel proud.
It can be something as simple as a song they love,
and the joy of finally being able to play it 🎹🌮☁️

Kids today are different ~

If learning music is only about following the score and repeating the same thing over and over again, they lose interest very quickly.

Because this generation of kids
wants to explore, experiment, and create.

Today, my student asked me,
“Can I play Fur Elise like this instead?”

And honestly,
that moment felt more meaningful than playing every note perfectly.

The students who continue to love music long-term usually aren’t the ones who only know how to copy well —
they’re the ones who slowly develop their own ideas, expression, and voice.

That’s when music becomes personal 🫶🏻
And that’s when they truly begin to enjoy learning 🌱

In my piano lessons, I guide children step by step as they are learning to play.

We don’t always rush the process.
Instead, we focus on understanding and small, achievable progress.

When a child is able to play even a small part by themselves,
you can see their confidence slowly grow.

💛 Learning piano is not about perfection.
It is about building confidence through real experience and gentle guidance🫶🏻🌱

If your child is currently learning piano or feeling a bit lost, feel free to message me. I’m happy to support you ❤️

One of the things I value most in teaching is helping students find their own way of expressing music 💗

Beyond learning the right notes and techniques,
I encourage them to explore different tones, colors, and emotions —
to listen, to imagine, and to feel.

It’s always so special to see a student gradually develop their own sense of musicality and personal aesthetics, learning to shape the music in a way that feels true to them 🕊️🍀

Every child hears and understands music differently,
and I believe that nurturing this individuality
is where real artistry begins. 🎹✨

How I Encourage My Students ✨🍀

🌱 I don’t always say, “You’re so talented.”

I say,
“I saw how patient you were.”
“You didn’t give up.”
“That was more careful than last week.”

Because I want them to know
their effort matters too ~

In my classroom, progress is quiet.

It happens in small steps.
In softer sounds.
In steadier rhythms.

And I celebrate those small steps.
Always🍀✨

🤍 Confidence grows where effort is seen.

🎹 When students play the music they truly love, something magical happens.

Today my student shared with me that she has loved Taylor Swift since she was 6 years old and has been listening to her songs ever since. ✨

So we worked on turning one of her favorite songs into a piano piece.

Moments like this remind me that learning piano is not just about exams or practice — it’s about helping students connect with music that means something to them.

When students play songs they love, their confidence, expression, and joy naturally grow. 💛

I love seeing young musicians discover their own voice through the piano.

If your child loves music too — whether it’s pop, movie soundtracks, or their favorite artists — piano can be a beautiful way for them to express themselves 💕✨

The Lunar New Year celebrations are slowly winding down…
Here’s a little melody from my students to bring a gentle close to the holiday. 🎹✨

Wishing everyone a calm and beautiful new start. 🤍
