An ecstatic milestone for Canadian International School (CIS). It has been accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools and by the Advanced Association of Accredited Schools (Cognia). Class of CIS 2022 IB diploma graduates were widely been accepted into some of the prestige universities such like University Of Oxford, King’s College London, Imperial College London, Berkeley Los Angeles, London School Of Economic and Political Science, School Of The Art Institute Chicago and more. This year, it is heartening to note that class of CIS 2022 IB diploma graduates have excelled academically above local and global average in their recent IBDP exam . This year the academic results is a consistent and remarkably 37 points. This is also a continuous proven track records for CIS IBDP results over the years. We have produced 2 students scoring a full-score of 45 points, 3 with 44 points, 10 scored 43 points and the overall 32.8% cohort scored a 40 points and above. The overall IBDP diploma exam passing rate is 99.2%.

Strength of being best bilingual school award winner are clearly illustrated as follows;
1. Teaching is aligned to the international Baccalaureate’s (IB) Primary Year Progamme. CIS also offers a French-English programme for Grade 1-5. Both languages is not taught as second language but teaching cirriculum. It encompasses concepts, knowledge, and skills through both languages.

2. Well-established being first international school to offer a bilingual programme. It has earned good reputation and gained weath of experiences as a pioneer dual-language school leader.

3. CIS bilingual programme currently has 47 classes and 40% of all students across both campus are enrolled in either Chinese or French bilingual programme.
4.Immersion approach. There are two qualified teachers per class. One native English speaker and one native Chinese speaker. The mandarin and English teacher collaboarate to deliver The Unit Of Inquiry within IB PYP framework. Student attend classes in English one day and Chinese in the next day. Full immersion is key throughout school day.

5. Results in Assessment Of Performance towards Proficiency in Language ( AAPPL) shows 70.5% of CIS students performing at the Intermediate Level and 29.5% at the Novice Level. Further to that, Measures Of Academic (MAP) shows that CIS bilingual students also performed at par or above grade level ij reading and Maths aspects with their English programme peers.

6. In the continuing secondary education pathway. CIS curriculum maintain focus on Chinese for IB Middle Year programme (MYP) and Diploma programme . CIS has specific pathway for its Chinese-English bilinguals students from grade 7-12 including bilingual Maths subject.

Student performance and progress , how CIS integrates cultures , values, and history into its bilingual curriculum ,and focused on ability of developement for their students bilingual skills as they move into secondary school. These are award criteria based solidly on CIS strengths , feedback,commendations from parents , teachers and students in WhichSchool Advisor surveys. CIS students excelled in the recent championship in Global Chinese Writing Competition 2022.

Students from our secondary Chinese-English bilingual learners won the competition for young writers aged group of 12 to 19. They earned the top spots out of 2,000 entries against other top international schools such as St. Joseph’s Singapore and Dulwich college Shanghai.

The recent launched IBDP visual arts exhibition showcased CIS grade 12 students' artwork, @ Red Dot Convention Centre. They delved into themes they have learnt in their MYP and DP programme. The graduating grade 12 students delved into themes like self-esteem, climate change and consumerism in various mediums using wide-range techniques. Well done and congratulations to all of them.
