๐ŸŽˆ Kindergarten School Visit: Learning, Laughter & New Friendships!

๐Ÿซฑ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿซฒ๐ŸปWe were delighted to welcome our young friends from Kinderland Siglap and Brighton Montessori to our school for a fun-filled Kindergarten School Visit! As the visit coincided with our Racial Harmony Day celebrations, our guests received a warm welcome from Singa, the Kindness Lion, setting the tone for an exciting morning.

Our Primary 5 Student Leaders were outstanding ambassadors, confidently emceeing the programme, leading school tours, and helping our preschool visitors feel right at home. The excitement continued as our Primary 2 students facilitated interactive games planned during their PAL Sports and Games module, demonstrating confidence, teamwork and leadership while cheering on their younger friends.

Thank you, Kinderland Siglap and Brighton Montessori, for spending such a memorable morning with us. We can't wait to welcome you back again! ๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸŒโœจ Celebrating Diversity, Embracing Harmony! โœจ๐ŸŒ

๐ŸŽ‰ For the first time, our school combined Racial Harmony Day and Mother Tongue Fortnight, creating a vibrant celebration of Singaporeโ€™s rich multicultural heritage and languages. Through lively recess booths, musical showcases, engaging assembly programmes, meaningful classroom discussions and Social Studies reflections, our students discovered that our diversity is our greatest strength.

They learnt the importance of showing respect, speaking with kindness and standing up against stereotypes. A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers for bringing the recess booths to life and to our Values and Cheer Champs for championing harmony among their peers.
Together, we continue to nurture a caring school community where every child belongs and every culture is celebrated. ๐Ÿ’›

Our Primary 3 Tamil Language students immersed themselves in the richness of Indian culture through engaging activities such as traditional dance, music and art at the recent E7 Cluster Tamil Camp!

They also had the opportunity to interact and collaborate with peers from other schools, forging new friendships and growing confidence as communicators. Through these experiences, students developed a deeper appreciation and respect for cultural traditions while learning the importance of teamwork and cooperation.

Truly a meaningful and memorable experience for our Opera GEMS!

At the end of Term 2, our selected P5 Prefects embarked on a memorable Student Leaders Overseas Immersion Programme to Penang, where they gained valuable learning experiences beyond the classroom.

Our students visited SJK(C) Min Sin School to interact with their Penang peers, exchange learning experiences and participate in activities such as calligraphy and Chinese drums.

Through visits to Georgetown, the Clan Jetty and Entopia, they explored Penang's rich history, multicultural heritage and biodiversity, broadening their perspectives and appreciation of the world around them. They also experienced Penang's culture firsthand through a batik painting workshop.

Through these meaningful experiences, our student leaders strengthened their leadership competencies, lived out the R2IGHT values and forged strong bonds with one another!

In Term 2, our students explored the value of โ€œ๐†๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐žโ€ through meaningful learning experiences that encouraged them to reflect on the kindness, care and support they receive every day. At OEPS, gratitude is more than saying โ€œthank youโ€. It is about recognising the people who support us and appreciating the contributions they make to our lives.

Through our Attitude of Gratitude (AOG) initiative, students expressed appreciation to our Admin and Operations Staff (AOS) for helping to make OEPS a safe, clean and welcoming environment. Through the Buddy Programme, students learnt to value the support and companionship of their peers. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to our Opera Parents Club (OPC) members for their support in programmes such as International Friendship Day and Green Week. Swipe through to see โ€œ๐†๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐žโ€ in action at OEPS!

Beyond gratitude, students also continued to uphold โ€œIntegrityโ€ through their daily actions by demonstrating honesty, responsibility and strong character. Stay tuned to see how our other right values are displayed in the upcoming term!

Creativity, curiosity and innovation were in full swing at OEPS as students immersed themselves in exciting Innovative Tinker Time experiences!

From hands-on tinkering to designing meaningful keychains with 3D pens for Motherโ€™s Day and Fatherโ€™s Day, our students explored and experimented through these joyful activities!

Our Opera Gems also had the opportunity to participate in engaging STEM activities thoughtfully facilitated by students from Dunman High School, where they explored scientific and mathematical concepts in fun and meaningful ways.
We would also like to thank our Opera Parents Club (OPC) for their time, effort and support in making these enriching experiences possible for our students.

Check out some of the exciting moments of tinkering!
