With the school decked out in red, yellow and orange, we welcomed the start of Chinese New Year at MapleBear Redhill this week!
The children learned how Chinese New Year is celebrated all around Asia, used mandarin oranges to form the Chinese New Year greeting 大吉大利 (lots of luck and profits), ate goodies and got to try making their own dumplings!
Sending wishes of health, wealth and wisdom to our MapleBear Redhill families this joyous occasion! 🧧🍊🐰

Did you know that learning about word families can be fun too?
The Nursery children brought their wacky wigs made with recycled materials such as cardboard, yarn and artificial flowers to school for a wig party when they learned about the -ig family.
What other -ig family words can you think of? 🤔

We celebrated the budding stars of MapleBear Redhill this year with a space themed Children’s Day party! 🚀
The children came to school all suited up in their out of this world outfits made by their parents, wandered through the galactic space adventure where they met a hungry galaxy space monster and designed a moon snack. Needless to say, the children had a blast!
Wishing all the children a Happy Children’s Day! May you always shine bright with lots of joy and laughter! ✨

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! 🥮
As part of the September Holiday Program, the children learned all about Mid-Autumn Festival, a traditional festival celebrated in Chinese culture.
They learned about the story of Chang-Er, played some themed games, tasted some mooncakes and pomelos and even got to try their hands at making snow skin mooncakes with lotus paste!

Can you guess what our Nursery children are doing? They’re not taking a nap, they are observing the clouds go by as they learned about the letter “C” this week! With their classmates, they created clouds of their own after observing them. Some looked like dinosaurs, while others looked like puppies and candies ☁️
Our Toddlers also ventured outside over the past week as they learned all about their legs (我的脚) in Mandarin. They went on a walk, danced with their friends, and felt how the grass feels beneath their feet. They also had heaps of fun playing under the parachute.
It’s been a wonderful start to the new school year!
