Fuhua's Concert Band has been making waves across multiple stages this year!
At our 11th Family Concert 2025, our musicians showcased their incredible versatility with a diverse repertoire that had everyone captivated. ๐ต The programme beautifully balanced contemporary hits like Taylor Swift's 'ME!' and 'Shake It Off', with classical pieces such as Dmitri Shostakovich's 'Waltz No. 2' and exotic Latin flair - Ernesto Lecuona's 'Malaguena'. ๐บ๐ท Our Fuhuanites can truly master any genre!
But the music didn't stop there!
Our Concert Band also had the honour of entertaining guests at the Odyssey Dance Theatre (ODT) Gala Performance 2025, bringing the same exciting repertoire to Singapore's broader arts scene. What a privilege to contribute to our nation's cultural landscape! ๐
From intimate family moments to grand community celebrations, our musicians continue to demonstrate that music truly connects hearts and builds bridges. We're so proud of their dedication, talent, and the joy they bring to every performance! ๐
A huge thank you to all family members, supporters and the Odyssey Dance Theatre for these meaningful opportunities! ๐ผ๐ซ

Another group of Sec 3 Fuhuanites went on a cultural immersion trip to Yogyakarta, Indonesia, in October this year. The trip aimed to develop emerging 21st-century competencies among Fuhuanites, particularly in the areas of Global Awareness and Cross-Cultural Skills, as well as Communication, Collaboration, and Information Skills. ๐ฃ๐ค๐บ
Through meaningful interaction with local students at the SMAN 8 Yogyakarta Secondary School, our students gained first-hand experience of school life in Indonesia and strengthened their intercultural understanding. The programme also provided exposure to a variety of hands-on activities and local traditions, deepening studentsโ appreciation of Yogyakartaโs rich heritage in arts, music and culture. ๐ญ๐จ๐ถ
Students and teachers also visited key cultural and historical sites such as the Borobudur Temple, Taman Sari Water Castle, Prambanan Temple, Sonobudoyo Museum, Affandi Museum and Rumah Tembi Cultural Village. They explored Malioboro Street, participated in Batik-making, Wayang Kulit and Javanese Dance workshops, and learned traditional music through a Gamelan workshop. ๐๐๐ต๐ผ The trip concluded with a Tea and Coffee Plantation visit. โ๏ธ๐ซ๐ฑ
๐ญAmelia Goh Yun Xi (3S3) reflected, "The Indonesians were very friendly and actively engaged with us, and despite the language barrier that we faced.
Now that I'm back in Singapore, the trip has taught me to be a more outgoing person and to not be afraid to step out of my comfort zone. The immersion has greatly enhanced my cross-cultural interactions and my appreciation for education."
๐ญHo Wen Hong (3S1) shared, "From my interaction with the Indonesian students and locals, one thing I learnt about the Indonesian education system is that it is quite different from Singaporeโs. In SMAN 8, students there can speak different languages, some English, some Japanese and lots more. I believe by learning new languages, I will be able to communicate with others better without causing a conflict or miscommunication. I want to try to learn different languages if I have time or someday.โ

๐โจ Beyond Borders: Fuhua in Chiang Mai! ๐น๐ญ๐
Our Sec 3 Fuhuanites embarked on an unforgettable learning journey in Chiang Mai in October this year - a trip encompassing community service, cultural exchange and hands-on experiences! ๐ฟ๐ค
The meaningful school exchanges and Values-in-Action (VIA) projects with local students ๐ง๐ were opportunities where students learnt, served, and grew together. ๐ช๐ฌ
Students also visited the Elephant PooPoo Paper Park and took part in an Elephant Care Programme ๐, gaining a deeper appreciation for sustainability and compassion for nature. ๐ฑ๐ง
Lim Jia Qi (3S3) shared, โDespite the language barrier, interacting with the Thai students made me realise that even small efforts to understand and connect can make a big difference. This trip encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and grow into a more open-minded and resilient person.โ ๐ญโจ
Yew Ming Zhi (3S7) reflected, โThis experience helped me realise the importance of kindness and open-mindedness while connecting with others from diverse backgrounds and culture. Kindness can bridge any gap and forge stronger friendships.โ ๐ฌโค๏ธ
Hereโs to broadening horizons, building friendships, and bringing the Fuhua spirit beyond borders! ๐๐

We were honoured to have ๐๐๐ช ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ (,) Singaporeโs first Para-Badminton World Champion, as our special guest during assembly. In collaboration with the Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC), we were able to hear his inspiring story of perseverance and positivity. ๐
Our Student Mentors and CCE Ambassadors designed and facilitated ๐ฆ๐น๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ช๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต๐ช๐ข๐ญ ๐ฃ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฉ๐ด to help Fuhuanites better understand the experiences of people with physical or sensory disabilities. This year, SHINE () also guided them in hosting a booth which focused on mental health awareness and reminded us of the importance of taking care of our well-being and supporting one another. ๐ซ Students also got to take part in a friendly game of ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ which was not only fun but also gave everyone a chance to experience teamwork and inclusivity in a new way. ๐
A big thank you to ๐ฟ๐๐ ๐ป๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ป๐๐๐๐๐ () for partnering with us once again to support and celebrate the abilities of persons with disabilities. ๐๐
Together, we continue to build a caring and inclusive Fuhua family where everyone is respected and valued. Canโt wait to see everyone again next year for ๐โ๐๐๐ช ๐๐๐๐! ๐๐

After months of preparation, our Sec 3 seniors set up booths along the spiral staircase and canteen to share what their VIA projects were all about with their juniors! ๐ฉโ๐ซ๐จโ๐ซ
This year, the Sec 3 cohort focused on animals and came up with projects related to our furry, four-legged friends. ๐๐ The projects include creating awareness on animal abandonment, sharing ways for pet owners to care for their pets and developing food dispenser for pets with voice assistance.
The Sec 1s and 2s had an engaging and interactive time visiting the booths to learn about the various projects. ๐ It is something for them to look forward to when they are in Sec 3 and are able to plan for their own VIA projects.
Our senior Fuhuanites certainly displayed what it means to be , and . Well done!

An initiative by our Student Council, students were encouraged to carry their school essentials in anything but a traditional school bag for a day, encouraging adaptability and out-of-the-box thinking! ๐ค This certainly sparked a lot of creativity, fun (and giggles!), and innovation amongst our students.
The initiative reminded students that not everyone may have equal access to school resources and we should appreciate what we have. By blending fun with reflection, we are heartened to see Student Leaders leading the way to promote learning and respect, while highlighting the values of empathy, innovation and community ๐ซ๐
