🌿 Our P4 Students Take the Stage at Mandai Zoo! 🐢🦁🦋

Last Friday, our P4 students took their learning beyond the classroom as they proudly presented their wildlife projects at Mandai Zoo, sharing their research with Mandai staff, teachers and members of the public! 💚

Over the past few months, we have seen them grow into more confident communicators, collaborative team players and creative problem-solvers. From attracting visitors to their booths and approaching members of the public, to handling rejection, resolving disagreements and persevering when things did not go as planned. They learnt to adapt, support one another and keep going. 🌟

These are valuable lessons that cannot always be learnt from textbooks, but through real experiences and challenges.

We are incredibly proud of how far they have come and hope they will continue to carry these skills into their learning and everyday lives, while being passionate advocates for wildlife! 🐾🌏

This National Day, our P5 and P6 Kong Hwaians served at the Mountbatten National Day Ang Bao Dinner, reaching out to seniors with warmth, care and a helping hand.

Through simple acts of service and heartfelt conversations, they showed that volunteerism is about being present, building connections and giving back to the community we share.

We are proud of our Kong Hwaians for celebrating National Day through service and helping to build a more caring Singapore. 🇸🇬❤️

Our heartfelt thanks to Ms Goh Sze Kee for giving our students this meaningful opportunity to serve and connect with the Mountbatten community.

🇸🇬 SG61: From “Me First” to “We First” 🇸🇬

As we celebrated Singapore’s 61st birthday in school, we were reminded of a powerful question: When we recite our Singapore Pledge each day, do we truly reflect on the words we say or more importantly, do we live them out?

Our Principal, Mr P**n, echoed Minister Desmond Lee's reflection during our National Day celebrations yesterday. As Kong Hwaians, how have we embodied the values of our Pledge? Through acts of kindness, respect for others, serving our community and looking out for one another, every small action allows us to put “We First” into practice. ❤️

As Singapore turns 61, we hope our Kong Hwaians will embody the Singapore Spirit, be grateful for the peace, safety and opportunities we enjoy, and recognise that each of us has a part to play in building the Singapore of tomorrow.

May we continue to go beyond ourselves, from “Me First” to “We First” , for the greater good of our people and our nation.

Happy 61st Birthday, Singapore! 🇸🇬

Majulah Singapura!

Wishing everyone a meaningful National Day and a wonderful long weekend spent with family and friends. ❤️🤍

Last Saturday, our Kong Hwa Show Choir was delighted to be part of Mountbatten CC's National Day Celebrations, joining the community in an evening filled with patriotic spirit, joyous laughter, and a sea of red and white. 🇸🇬✨ It was a wonderful opportunity for our young choristers to share the gift of music as families, friends, and residents came together to celebrate Singapore's birthday. The lively atmosphere, festive performances, and strong sense of community made it a truly memorable occasion for everyone.

We are also proud to celebrate the choir's recent achievement at the GTB Asia Competition, where Kong Hwa Show Choir clinched Second Place with a Platinum-tier score. 🏆🎶 In the competition's scoring system, the Platinum band is awarded to performances scoring 81–90 marks, recognising a high standard of musical excellence. This achievement reflects the dedication, perseverance, and teamwork of our choristers, as well as the unwavering support of our teachers and parents. As we continue to grow together through every rehearsal and performance, we look forward to creating many more meaningful musical memories and making our school proud.

Happy National Day in advance! Majulah Singapura! 🇸🇬

Welcome to our newly revamped school canteen!

Fondly nicknamed our "new café" by the students, the canteen has quickly become a favourite gathering place during recess and lunch. From cosy round tables that encourage meaningful conversations, to comfortable bench seating and a central stage where students showcase their talents, every corner has been thoughtfully designed to bring our school community together.

Our Kong Hwaians are truly blessed to have such a welcoming space to eat, connect and create lasting memories.

We are proud that our Kong Hwaians play their part by keeping the canteen clean, returning their plates and bowls and caring for the space, so that everyone can continue to enjoy it.

Together, everyone in the Kong Hwa family will cherish this beautiful new space and make it a place where respect, gratitude and community shine every day.

We are incredibly proud of our very own Joy Ang, a Primary 3 student, who bravely chose to go bald in support of her father and children battling cancer.

Her courage, compassion and selflessness remind us that age is never a barrier to making a difference.

Joy, your bravery has inspired the entire Kong Hwa family. Thank you for making a bold statement of love, hope and solidarity.

📰 Read her inspiring story in The Straits Times:
"The courage to go bald: Why more girls are shaving their heads for children with cancer."

Fellow Kong Hwaians, let's give Joy a big round of applause for showing us what true courage looks like. ❤️👏

The SHHK Combined Schools Sports Meet is one of Kong Hwa School's signature events where the 5 SHHK schools come together to participate in this sporting event. It is also an integral part of our student athletes and graduating P6 cohort's schooling experience where they get an opportunity to bond with their schoolmates, cheer on their fellow Kong Hwaians in an inter school event.

Our student supporters cheered their hearts out, and our athletes displayed tremendous grit and sportsmanship throughout the day. As many left Bishan Stadium with tired limbs, sore throats and medals, more importantly, many would have left with memories and experiences which will last a lifetime and help them grow as better people.
