Personally, I have the OKWv2 on my duty pistol,
PLHv2 single mode on rifle,
either OKW multi mode or PLHv2 multi mode on handheld.
Personal preference, since pistols are more of a less stable platform than rifles (having comparatively less contact points), the smaller hot spot helps a great deal when there’s no time for us to shift our focus through the optics, but at the same time we still have a fairly decent amount of spill to help identify the surroundings.
Generally we do more searchings upon situations when rifles are deployed, hence the PLHv2.
Also, the bigger hot spot goes really well with bigger optics since the silhouette of rifles takes up more space in front of our eyes.
