The three key messages of the Clean Tables Campaign are: Keep the table clean for the next user, Clear your disposal crockery, tissues and wipes and Return your trays and crockery. Children are taught to fold paper boxes. They use the paper boxes to hold their food scraps during mealtimes.
It has been a daily routine for the children to return their plates, bowls and crockery after finishing their meals. The Clean Tables Campaign reinforces this good practice.

KPS Earth Day
On 22nd April, Luther Preschool commemorated Earth Day. Children pledged to commit themselves to take care of the Earth by leaving their handprints on their commitments. Some examples of their commitments are, turning off lights and fans when not in used. We have also created a garden whereby recycled materials were used to make our planters. Upcycling teaches children to learn about the 3Rs, in return creating lesser waste. Lastly, books were also read to the children on the idea of how we can keep our waters clean. Happy 56th Birthday Singapore!
Despite not being able to gather in large groups this year, it has not dampen our Singapore spirit. Today, we donned our red tops and white bottoms; and kicked off our celebration with the National Anthem, pledge and singing of National Day songs like “We will get there” and “童谣”.
We then gathered our August babies and took photos with a giant Singapore flag birthday cake. Following which, together as a school, we carried out a virtual dance workout – “Dance of the Nation”. The upbeat dance and catchy song had us all spirited and swelled with patriotism. Next, we had a trivia game and test ourselves on how much we know about our Homeland, Singapore! With the last two songs – “Count on me, Singapore” and “卫国军”, it marked the end of our National Day celebration. Lastly, we ended off our day with Singapore’s iconic dish, chicken rice for lunch.

To celebrate Singapore's 56th birthday this year, the children folded and designed their hearts with various well wishes. First, they wrote their well wishes on the hearts. The older children have written phrases like "Happy Birthday Singapore!", "Happy National Day!", and "ONE NATION", whereas the younger children decorated their hearts using a crescent and 5 stars to represent the flag, and coloured a "I ❤️ SG" cut-out.
Next, the children folded their decorated heart origami into both red and white hearts to represent the colours of our Singapore flag. Together we pieced the different coloured hearts from the respective classes to form a massive heart-shaped Singapore flag.
