Should I choose art or music for my child? đŸŽšđŸŽ”

Many parents ask this question, hoping to make the “”right”” choice.

But perhaps the better question is: What does my child need most right now?

Art and music both offer incredible benefits, but they develop different skills.

Rather than looking at what other parents are choosing, consider your child’s personality, strengths, and challenges. The best choice isn’t necessarily the most popular one. It’s the one that helps your child grow in the areas they need most.

Just a quiet place to slow down, spend time together and let the kids explore a different environment for a while can be equally meaningful.

From cosy corners to lesser-known family-friendly spaces, these hidden spots around Singapore are perfect for days when you simply want a space to chill and recharge without any fuss.

This is what happens when you don’t want to miss a single step of a portrait sketching process 😄

Because it’s such a rare chance to learn hands-on personally from Jeff

Everyone (and their phones) were fully focused, recording every tip as he demonstrated each sketching technique.

See how proud the kids looked holding up their final portraits 💞

Tapping, scrolling, and watching all day. Is that how we want our kids spending their holidays?

Screen habits grow quietly, and before we realise it, they become harder to change than we think.

So why not give them something more real this holiday? Something they can actually do, create, and experience with their own hands?

It helps them slow down, get curious, and enjoy the process of learning too.

If you’re not sure where to start, you can explore hands-on workshops and creative experiences for your child on kloopsg.com

Your child doesn’t always have a full week of free time to explore something new during the holidays

Most of the time, it’s actually:
✹ a free afternoon between enrichment classes
✹ a random weekday with no plans
✹ one quiet pocket of time to fill up

It is often these small moments during the holidays that end up feeling the most meaningful, whether it is a workshop, a hands-on activity, or a fun learning experience.

So if you’re still figuring out how to keep them busy this June holiday without overpacking their schedule, here are some meaningful workshops to explore.

One moment they’re in an art class
the next, they’re stepping right into their own adventure 🎈

In this Storytelling Through Art & Play session at , the kids didn’t just hear stories, they experienced them. Through songs, props, and interactive storytelling, they got to “step into” the books in a really hands-on way, turning simple materials into colourful little worlds of their own.

From classic favourites to modern children’s stories, everything was designed to spark creativity and imagination, with plenty of sensory play and fine motor activities involved too.

Watching the mums and kids draw each other felt a little more special than we expected đŸ„ș💛

There was some laughter, some quiet hesitation as they tried to get the details right. Just doing their best to draw Mum in their own way.

And when they finally showed each other the drawings, those reactions said it all.

Watching the mums receive the portraits their kids drew of them was probably our favourite part of this workshop đŸ„ș💛

Some laughed the moment they saw it. Some got a little emotional. But you could really tell how much it meant to them.

It wasn’t about how perfect the drawings were. It was really about the time spent together learning to sketch that made it special.

We use AI every day — to write emails, speed up work, and even ask ChatGPT for help when our kids come to us with questions we can’t solve on the spot.

So why do we feel uneasy when AI starts entering classrooms?

With MOE introducing AI at Primary 4, the conversation is no longer just about technology. It’s about how our kids learn, think, and build independence in a world where answers are always one click away.

At the same time, AI literacy is becoming part of the future which leaves many of us wondering:
👉 How do we prepare our kids for an AI-driven world without letting AI replace the thinking process itself?

We would love to hear from you too. What are your biggest concerns when it comes to AI in your child’s learning?
