In my chapter, I wrote about how to help teens make sense of difficult emotions without shutting them down or making them feel alone in what they’re feeling 🤍

Because the teen years are not just about behaviour. They’re about learning how to understand themselves.

Raising Teens Who Talk to You became a bestseller within a day of launching, and today is the last day to get it for $1.99 USD ☕️

Sometimes the best way to get your teen talking is to stop making the conversation feel so serious 👀

A playful, unexpected question can lower their guard and invite connection.

This is one of the insights inside Raising Teens Who Talk to You, the bestselling book that launched today. 🤍

Most of us were never shown how to stay connected with our children through this phase.

We were taught how to correct, protect, or control, but not always how to truly listen, understand, and keep the relationship safe as they grow into themselves.

That’s why Raising Teens Who Talk to You matters so much.

35 parents and experts coming together to share honest, practical support for one of the most misunderstood stages of parenting.

And today is the ONLY day to get the book for just $1.99

So continuing the topic on talking to your teen children.

if you are not sure what “being curious” actually looks like… start here!

💡 before giving advice, try asking:

• tell me more?• what happened next?• if you were them, what would you do differently?

these are not questions to correct them.they are questions to understand them.

and sometimes… that is what keeps the conversation going.

what questions would you ask?

save this for the next time you feel the urge to jump in 💾

if talking to your teen feels like this…nothing is landing. every conversation misses.

it is not always what you are saying.it might be how you are saying it.

when we lead with advice, they often shut down.

try this instead ⬇️get curious.
ask questions.not to fix. not to correct.just to understand.

and when they answer… pause.
that pause matters more than you think.

it tells them they are safe to keep talking.it gives the conversation space to breathe.

connection is not built through perfect advice.it is built in moments like this.

Let me know if you’ve tried this 🤓

you may not like this… but it is the truth about parenting teens 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫

they will make choices you do not agree with.some will scare you. some will frustrate you.

and your instinct will be to step in and stop them.
but they are not trying to defy you.they are trying to find themselves.

you cannot control every decision they make.but you can decide who you are when they make them.

be the parent they come back to.not the one they feel they have to hide from

i have been a little quiet here… but for good reason 🤍i have been working behind the scenes on something that means a lot to me — a book created alongside other therapists, parent coaches, and psychologists.

Healing isn’t pretty. It’s messy. Loud. Disorienting..
It’s boundaries. It’s nervous system shaking.

As a coach, here’s a tip I personally use —

When you’re stuck in your head… move your body.

Your mind replays the past.
Your body is still holding it.

Dance. Tap. Shake.

This is how your nervous system completes what it never got to finish.

We’re the only species that tries to think our way out of
what our body needs to release.

Movement is release.
