Tutor Kiki

Last year, I started this meal-date with my graduating students as I won’t be seeing them again (maybe if they come to visit).

Remembering all those stressful days where student break down due to difficulty coping for sec 5. some students almost want to give up one month before O’level. Those conversations with parents, worrying about their child… frustration that some students does not have sense of urgency. Exhaustion from chasing, nagging and repeating key concepts. My frequent headaches and insomnia nearing to prelim and O’level periods…

But today, all these are overwritten by laughter and happiness 🩷

One parent enrolled her daughter for one month extra maths lessons before PSLE and requested to stop in September as don’t want the child to feel too overwhelmed during the PSLE period.

Today was my last lesson with her, not only did she improve significantly from about 50% in mid year to 70+% for prelim, she also make this adorable card for advance teacher day present~

All the best for the P6 and Sec 4/5 students, one more month left to PSLE, N and O’level! Continue to push, don’t give up, don’t get complacent! Focus on the goal, I believe you all can excel!

Have been staying past midnight these few weeks answering students questions due to prelims, don’t really have the time to post on social media, but this student deserve a mention!

Till last year (sec 2), she has been prioritising her cca and mostly everything else other than studies. For sec 2 EOY, she even need to retake maths exam to determine if she can be promoted or drop to NA stream. It was really disappointed and even questions myself if I can do more for her to better help her. She eventually manage to pass the retake and proceed to Sec 3 express

This year I can definitely see the change in her attitude and glad her efforts is reflected in the recent test :)

Received this from my students (sibling of 2)~~ they know I’m a sucker for cute stuff. Really blessed from being pamper by all the parents and students 🙆🏻‍♀️🤭🥰

Recently I did WA1 revision with my students. This year, I decided to cut short the mock test paper so I will have time to give timely feedback and also went through the corrections on time.

I received this heartfelt response from this parent. The student has been with me since Sec 1 and now she is in Sec 3. Remember last time she is struggling to understand what the school teacher taught her in school. Now she is able to cope with school and shows improvement in her result

I always strongly believe every child has their own strengths and weaknesses, helping them improving their weaknesses at the same time letting them enjoying the process is what motivate me most as a tutor

CNY comes early~~ this parent is so sweet to come over from Bukit Merah to Sengkang to delivery Chinese new yer goodies for me. Thank you so much for the gift and most importantly for the thoughtfulness 🙆🏻‍♀️🙆🏻‍♀️

O’level result out today. This time round I have a mixed reaction…I’m happy that most of my students improved, (with some improve by 5 grades!) but there are some students who did not manage to hit their target (could be I’ve high expectations of them too)

Overall I’m still proud of their improvement. Wish you all the best in your new chapter of life!!

Received a souvenir from a parent who went to Japan in December. The parent told the child that she purchased this for me as a gift due to Kiki delivery service (an anime which have my name in it), so thoughtful of her and I finds it so adorable~ I can’t wait to stamp my students work with these 😆😆
