小六华文口试考“住宅安全”，不少家长都觉得出乎意料。**

但换个角度看，这也许正是在提醒我们：

未来真正重要的，不只是孩子“背过多少答案”，而是面对陌生题目时，能不能自己思考、组织语言，并清楚表达自己的想法。

在 AI 时代，资料越来越容易取得，标准答案也越来越容易找到。真正难被取代的，是孩子的判断力、应变力和表达力。

所以，口试准备不应该只是猜题和背范文。

更重要的是让孩子学会：
遇到问题，先观察；
不懂的时候，先思考；
没有标准答案，也敢说出自己的看法。

那些练过的词语、句式和语感，当然不会白费。它们都是孩子表达自己的工具。

考试终究会结束，但未来的世界，不会提前把题目告诉我们。

**比“答对”更重要的，是面对未知时，孩子依然有话可说、有能力去想。**

But perhaps that is exactly the point.

The future will not only reward children who can memorise prepared answers. What matters even more is whether they can think independently, organise their thoughts, and express themselves clearly when faced with an unfamiliar question.

In the age of AI, information is easy to find and “model answers” can be generated within seconds.

What remains uniquely valuable is a child’s ability to judge, adapt, think critically and communicate with confidence.

So oral exam preparation should go beyond predicting topics and memorising scripts.

Children need to learn how to observe, think, respond and form their own opinions — even when there is no perfect answer.

The vocabulary, sentence structures and language skills they have practised are never wasted. They are the tools that help them express their thinking.

Exams will eventually end.

But in life, the questions will not always be given in advance.

**The real skill is not simply knowing the answer, but knowing how to respond when the answer is not prepared.**

母语教育再加强——真正拉开差距的，是每天的学习习惯。📚

新加坡教育部宣布，从 2027年起，将进一步扩大 母语语文选修课程，让更多中学生和初级学院学生有机会深入学习 华文、马来文和泰米尔文。

这反映出国家持续重视 双语与双文化能力，也说明母语能力在未来会越来越重要。

教育部长 李智陞 也提醒大家：
在以英语为主的环境中培养双语孩子，并不是一件容易的事。家长 不需要要求自己说得完美，真正重要的是 努力和坚持。❤️

家长可以从一些简单的小事开始：
📖 每天陪孩子读一本中文绘本
💬 用华语聊聊今天发生的事情
🎵 一起听一首中文歌曲
✍️ 每天读一点、说一点、听一点、写一点

这些事情看起来很小，但只要长期坚持，就会带来很大的改变。

其实，学习华文也是一样。

与其一次学很多，
不如培养一个简单而稳定的习惯：

每天坚持10分钟。

读一点，
说一点，
听一点，
写一点。

日积月累，孩子的词汇、阅读理解、口语表达和写作能力，都会慢慢提升。🌱

🇸🇬 Mother Tongue Education Gets a Boost — But the real difference comes from daily habits. 📚

Singapore’s Ministry of Education has announced that from 2027, the Mother Tongue Language Elective Programme will be expanded, giving more secondary and junior college students the opportunity to deepen their learning in Chinese, Malay and Tamil.

This reflects how important bilingual and bicultural abilities will continue to be for Singapore’s future.

Education Minister Desmond Lee also shared an important reminder:
Raising a bilingual child in an English-dominated environment is not easy. Parents do not need to be perfect speakers. What matters most is effort and consistency. ❤️

That can start with simple daily actions:
📖 Reading a Chinese picture book together
💬 Talking about the day in Mandarin
🎵 Listening to a Chinese song together
✍️ Reading, speaking, listening and writing a little every day

These may seem like small things, but when done consistently, they create a big long-term impact.
