This allows us to be of assistance to students who find themselves either struggling or want to excel in Chemistry.

Did you know that the majority of the air that we breathe in consists of nitrogen gas instead of oxygen gas?

However, when the air enters our lungs, only oxygen is being transported into our body while the nitrogen gas is relatively untouched. In exchange, we give out carbon dioxide gas which are then expelled into the atmosphere.

Chemistry is fun! But at the same time, it can be complex. The Chemistry Learning Lab was conceptualized keeping in mind the difficulties students face when studying chemistry. Our classes are designed to teach chemistry in a fun way with all the complex topics broken down into simple easy-to-understand concepts.

Examinations are over and students can finally take a much needed break from school soon. Before they embark on their school holidays however, there is still one more matter that they will have to engage in, and that is finding out how they fared during their final exams and reviewing their performance.

As they receive back the results from their teachers, students will be both excited and nervous at the same time. Comparing marks with their fellow classmates and friends are also a common sight to behold as they proceed to make friendly banter about their individual results and jokingly tease each other about it. It is also a time of reflection as students who did not do well for their Chemistry exams will have to determine whether they may require further Chemistry tuition lessons leading up to their O or A level exams.

To all the Chemistry students out there, please do not feel afraid to approach and talk to your parents about it as open communication is key towards determining what is the best way forward. To those who did well, good job and have a good break before striving to maintain your achievements in the coming school year!

It is the time of year again for students. After putting in an entire year's worth of effort and concentration, it is at this crucial juncture that students will find out how well they have prepared for the exams and where their competency in Chemistry lie.

During this period, please ensure that you have enough rest and rehydrate yourself as much as possible both during your revision for Chemistry as well as during the actual exam. Sleep is also important for you to focus and reduce careless mistakes, so a fixed sleeping schedule will be very beneficial for you. At the same time, remember to have a proper diet so that your body is in tip top condition to last throughout the exam period.

For our students who are taking their O and A level Chemistry, all the best for your national exams!

Is there a career in Science? According to a research study released by the World Economic Forum, Singapore is a “Technology Hub,” a nation with a large number of scientists and engineers who work for research and development firms, as well as a high number of science and technology firms per capita.

With many alternatives in the form of electronic and mobile devices within our reach, it is difficult to spot such a sight of students looking through rows of books found in the library in search for books by their favourite authors or study materials for Chemistry for example.

As we move along with the changing times, what are the odds of students spending some quality time in the library any time soon? As libraries themselves are also starting to engage their audience through e-platforms and services, they still have some perks to existing in our Singapore society. Take for instance, the allure of a quiet and conducive surroundings free from your everyday distractions to focus on working on project work or revision for Chemistry exams. This is still a common sight amongst students especially when it is close to the mid-year or year-end exams. So libraries are here to stay but may evolve with the changing trends eventually.
