✨📚 Digital Literacy - Learning to Code, Co-create with Confidence ✨📚

Our Primary 5 students had an enriching and enjoyable experience during the Code-for-Fun (CFF) programme held in the last week of Term 2! Conducted in partnership with the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), the programme is a nation-wide MOE initiative aimed at developing students’ digital literacy coding skills and computational thinking.

Using block-based programming on the iPads and tinkering with Sphero BOLT robots, students collaborated in groups to complete a variety of exciting coding challenges. They programmed the robots to move, light up, display animations, and even perform simple dance routines! These engaging activities encouraged creativity, teamwork, and communication while strengthening students’ logical thinking and problem-solving skills.

This programme also provided students with valuable opportunities to apply their learning in a fun and interactive environment. As they tested and improved their codes, students learnt the importance of perseverance, collaboration, and innovation. It was heartening to see the students’ enthusiasm and confidence grow as they brought their ideas to life through coding!

📚✨ Book Blast Magic – Growing Confident Voices Through Stories! ✨📚

At AMKP, every story is an opportunity for our students to discover their voice, express themselves confidently, and connect with others through the joy of reading. 💛

In the latest chapter of our Book Blast series, students from P3 Care and P2 Resilience took centre stage as both readers and storytellers, sharing their favourite tales with their peers. From expressive storytelling to engaging their audience with thoughtful questions, our young narrators brought each story to life with enthusiasm, confidence, and creativity. 🌟

The room came alive with bright smiles, eager listeners, and little voices growing stronger with every page turned. Beyond reading aloud, the session provided meaningful opportunities for students to practise speaking confidently, listening actively, and communicating their ideas clearly — key aspects of AMKP’s Applied Learning Programme (ALP) in Oracy. 🎤📖

Through experiences like Book Blast, we nurture confident AMKPians who are able to express themselves with courage, connect with others meaningfully, and develop a lifelong love for reading and communication. 🥰

Here’s to our wonderful young storytellers — thank you for inspiring others and reminding us of the magic that stories can bring! ✨

💛💙💚❤️

AMKP’s inaugural Parents for Parents (P4P) session

❤️ A heartfelt thank you to all the parents who joined AMKP’s inaugural Parents for Parents (P4P) session on 18 May 2026! Organised by the Parent Support Group (PSG) and our Allied Educators (SEN Officers), we were delighted to see the room filled with warm conversations, meaningful connections and parents getting to know one another.

The morning centred on strengthening our home-school partnership and exploring how parents and teachers can work hand in hand by focusing on solutions together. Our Senior SENO, Ms Shaleni, shared the C-H-E-E-R framework, guiding parents on the importance of connecting with our children before correcting them. We were also privileged to hear from our parent volunteer, Faith, who shared her personal parenting journey and experiences with fellow parents.

Parents also enjoyed a meaningful time bonding over a hands-on Batik Painting activity, filled with creativity, laughter and shared moments. 🎨✨

Missed this session? The PSG warmly welcomes you to join us at our next P4P session in Semester 2. Whether you would like to participate in the conversation, connect with fellow parents, or volunteer just an hour of your time, there is always a place for you in our AMKP family.

Together, let’s continue building a caring and supportive community for our children. 💕

🏫 Exploring the AMKP Experience! 🏫

Ang Mo Kio Primary School had the pleasure of hosting 4 kindergartens as part of our Kindergarten Outreach Programme! 🏫💛

Hosted by our enthusiastic Primary 4 to Primary 6 Peer Support Leaders, the children enjoyed an exciting tour around the school and experienced a glimpse of life as an AMKP student. From visiting our Imaginarium, eco-learning pond, hall, library and computer lab, to exploring different learning spaces around the school, the children had the opportunity to discover what makes learning at AMKP meaningful and enjoyable. 🌈📚

One of the highlights of the visit was the canteen experience 🍱😋, where the children had the opportunity to buy food and enjoy recess just like our students. Through these hands-on experiences, we hope our little visitors have become more familiar with the primary school environment and feel excited, confident, and ready for their primary school journey in 2027.

At AMKP, we believe that every child’s primary school journey should begin with joy, curiosity, and a sense of belonging. 💛

A big thank you to our Peer Support Leaders and school staff for making the outreach programme such a warm, memorable, and meaningful experience for our young visitors! 🌟

💛💙💚❤️

🌟 Guiding Our Children to Make Safe & Wise Choices 🌟

Character education is deeply embedded in AMKP’s values and everyday learning experiences. One of our character-building initiatives is the recent Drug Remembrance Programme, where our Primary 1 to 6 students participated in a range of meaningful activities focused on making safe, responsible and informed choices.
• Primary 1–3 students learnt age-appropriate messages on staying safe and making good choices through school-based activities 🎨📚
• Primary 4–5 students completed the Anti-Drug Ambassador Activity (AAA), rolled out by Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) with support from MOE, through guided discussions and activity booklets 📝
• Primary 4–6 students also attended an engaging skit by PLAY INC 🎭 and visited a booth by Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (SANA), where they learnt about the harms of drugs and made pledges to stay drug-free 🤝🚫
We hope these meaningful experiences will continue to guide our students in developing strong values, making positive choices, and growing into confident and responsible individuals 💛💙💚❤️

🏆 Merit Award Winners at the Inter-school Newsmaker Awards 2026!

🌟 Congratulations to our P4 stars — Dylan (4 CA), Amar (4 RP), and Jason (4 IN) — on winning the Merit Award at the Inter-school Newsmaker Awards 2026! 🎉

Armed with confident spoken English and thoughtful use of technology, our three AMKPians delivered a powerful sustainability message on overconsumption and mindful living.

Their words say it best:

"I have enough" instead of "I want more."

A simple reminder that small, conscious choices can create real impact for our planet. 🌍

Dylan, Amar, and Jason — you have made us incredibly proud. Keep shining and using your voices to inspire change! 👏
