Congratulations to my student participants of La Pianista Competition 2024 for a successful performance last weekend!

It was our first time as a studio going for competition, and I'm so pleased at the playing my students showcased. Everyone showed such determination despite the many anxious feelings. Hope this was a good learning experience for everyone (me included), and onwards to the next hurdle ☺️

Over the weekend, I flew to Medan to adjudicate for La Pianista Piano Compeition 2024. It was a non-stop day together with my fellow jury .music .ang_ , listening to about 600+ young Indonesian pianists from 7.45am to 9.30pm!

I enjoyed such outstanding playing and felt the genuine passion these young musicians brought with them to the stage. It was such a treat for my ears.

龙年大吉！

We ended off 2023 with a massive concert-party for the students and their families. There was food, games, music and most importantly, lots of FUN! For the concert, we tried a different format where most of the pieces were learnt by ear and through improvisation. Many of the students played a full pop song without any notation for the first time in their lives! 😊 I'm super proud of each one of you for trying something new in music and personally am excited to explore more into this more modern type of piano playing 🥹🥰 Cheers to more new experiences together in 2024 🥂
