In July, a group of students put their creativity to paper and submitted their artworks for the 18th National Junior Watercolour Competition 2026, organised by the Singapore Watercolour Society. We are delighted to receive the wonderful news in August that Alyssa (1 Hope) was one of the 18 prize winners in Group A (5โ€“9 years old) receiving a Consolation Award. ๐Ÿ†

On 5 September, Alyssa attended the Prize Presentation Ceremony at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, where she proudly received her medal from the Guest of Honour, Dr Syed Harun Alhabsyi, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of National Development.

Congratulations, Alyssa! We are also very proud of all the girls who took the time to explore, experiment and share their ideas through art. Every brushstroke is part of their journey, and sometimes, the most meaningful part is simply having the courage to pick up a brush and give it a try.

Our P3 Art Club members embarked on their first learning journey to Kamal Arts Gallery on 1 September 2026, marking the fourth and final Art Club learning journey of 2026!

The girls had the opportunity to meet batik artist Mr Kamal Dollah in his studio, watch him demonstrate the batik-making process and try it out for themselves. They created their own designs before getting hands-on with hot wax and indigo dye, experiencing the traditional batik process up close.

There were plenty of curious questions and proud smiles as the girls revealed their finished batik pieces!

What a meaningful way to end our Art Club learning journeys for 2026, with creativity, culture and hands-on fun! ๐ŸŽจ

Our talented dancers brought two completely different worlds to life at OLQP Preassembly Showcase on Thursday, August 27th!
The audience was captivated by the elegant flow of a graceful Fusion Dance, followed by the high-energy beats of an incredible Tap Dance routine.

Our Drama Club and Little LIGHTS students brought their talents beyond the school to serve the wider community through a meaningful collaboration with Bukit Panjang Public Library.

Little LIGHTS students curated a special display of books by local authors, while Drama Club members brought local stories to life through a storytelling session for families. Together, our students discovered that service can take many forms โ€” sharing their skills, creativity and love for reading to inspire others.

Through this collaboration, they learned that even small contributions can strengthen community connections and make a meaningful difference.

Over the weekend, we joined the Archdiocese of Singapore in celebrating Catholic Education Sunday, giving thanks for the gift of Catholic education.

Our Chaplaincy Team, Catholic students and parents came together with the parish community of St. Josephโ€™s Church in prayer and worship, with our students and staff serving as lectors and offertory bearers.

Art Club is not just about what happens in the art room. It is about giving our girls opportunities to experience art first-hand and discover more about the world around them. Over the past two weeks, our P4 and P5 Art Club members embarked on three learning journeys, each offering a different experience.

๐Ÿบ P4 Art Club | Sam Mui Kuang Pottery Studio

Our P4 girls stepped into a pottery studio and gained an authentic glimpse into the world of pottery-making. After watching a demonstration of the throwing technique on an electric wheel, it was their turn to get their hands on the clay! With guidance from instructor Mr Chua Soo Kim, each girl had a go at wheel throwing and created her very first hand-thrown clay bowl. From a spinning lump of clay to a bowl they could proudly call her own, it was an unforgettable hands-on experience!

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ P4 Art Club | National Gallery Singapore

From clay to sculpture, our P4 girls continued their artistic adventure at National Gallery Singapore! The girls had the opportunity to take a closer look at two striking teak wood sculptures by two Singaporean artists. Through guided observation and discussion, they explored how artists can transform a natural material such as wood into expressive works of art, while developing their skills in looking closely, interpreting and appreciating art. The experience continued at the Keppel Centre for Art Education, where interactive installations and hands-on activities sparked their curiosity to engage with art in a fun and meaningful way.

๐ŸŽจ P5 Art Club | National Gallery Singapore

Our P5 Art Club members went behind the scenes through the โ€œMeet Me at the Galleryโ€ workshop! They discovered the many different teams that work together to keep the Gallery running โ€” from Learning and Outreach and Audience Development to Safety and Security. It was an eye-opening experience that gain a fascinating glimpse into the people and processes that bring a museum to life.

Whether they were shaping clay, discovering sculptures or going behind the scenes at a museum, our Art Club girls had opportunities to see, explore, ask questions and appreciate art beyond the classroom.
