Chequers Chinese Singapore is founded by Ting Koh (许老师）and her team. Ting Koh is a former MOE Chinese teacher and is currently a full-time private tutor who specializes in primary school Chinese. After teaching in a local primary school for several years, she was chosen by MINDEF and MOE as the Chinese teacher for RSAF's military air base in France for 2 years. She also holds a Master's degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. She focuses on teaching of vocabulary using flashcards and games to build interest and improve her students' results. With great improvement seen in her tutees, she decided to convert her teaching method into an online course so that more Singapore students can receive the help they need 😁

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝟲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 submitted their 8th and final composition today, while our 𝗣𝟯–𝗣𝟱 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 have just 2 more compositions to go! 📝

We had our first P5–6 Oral Convo Mastery Class last Saturday and here’s a little snippet! 💬

Students learnt about the Chinese Oral Exam and how to use our H.A.M.S.T.E.R.S. technique to structure their answers.

There was a lot of content covered, but students also had many chances to answer questions and practise actively. They were all so participative! 🏆

Students can earn virtual trophies when they answer questions, and redeem a prize at the end of 4 lessons 🪎

We still have 2 spots left for our May and June runs. Register asap if you’re keen! Lesson recordings are provided, so don’t worry if your child misses a session.

Most students think they’re writing this punctuation mark correctly… but they’re not 👀

It’s not just about knowing how to use punctuation. It’s also about writing it correctly.

Small details like the ellipsis (……) may seem minor, but they can cost marks if written wrongly.
