Learning Together Through Movement – K1
Our K1 children had an exciting time during their Motor Skills Development (MSD) activity with the colorful parachute! Working together, the children held onto the parachute and coordinated their movements to keep the ball moving without letting it roll off.
Beyond developing their gross motor skills and coordination, this activity provided a wonderful opportunity to strengthen their Social and Emotional Development (SED). The children learnt to cooperate with their friends, take turns, listen to instructions, communicate and work towards a common goal.
There were plenty of smiles and excitement as they discovered that keeping the ball on the parachute was much easier when everyone worked together! Through this playful experience, the children also practiced patience, self-control and consideration for others.
A simple parachute game became a meaningful lesson in teamwork, friendship and learning together.

Let’s Move and Take Turns! – Move the Ball Game
The Nursery 2 children took part in an engaging “Move the Ball” game. Each pair used a strip of crepe paper to guide a paper cup with a small plastic ball inside, carefully moving it along a marked pathway. This required gentle, controlled movements and strong concentration to keep the ball inside the cup until reaching the finishing point.
As they waited for their turn, the children practised patience and respect for their friends. They encouraged one another and celebrated each other’s efforts, creating a supportive and joyful atmosphere.
Through this fun and hands‑on challenge, the children learnt the importance of waiting, following simple rules, taking turns, and supporting their peers. They also developed social skills, self‑regulation, hand‑eye coordination, and confidence.
It was wonderful to see them cheering for one another and enjoying the challenge together! 🤝😊

Passing the Hula Hoop Through String
The children were divided into two roles: two friends held the string at each end, while two others worked together to pass the hula hoop along the string from one side to the other.
They enjoyed the challenge, communicating with one another as they manoeuvred the hoop. The activity encouraged teamwork, coordination, and problem‑solving, while also strengthening fine and gross motor skills.
Through repeated practice, the children developed patience, persistence, and confidence, showing joy and excitement as they successfully completed the task together.
