Sunflower Kiddy Star Preschool

Our N2 K1 and K2 children had a wonderful time interacting with the guinea pig! 😊 Thanks to the insightful session conducted by NParks, they learned about the types of pets allowed in Singapore, the responsibilities of pet ownership, and how to care for their pets responsibly. Most importantly, they understood the significance of never abandoning a pet. It was indeed an enriching and purposeful experience for all involved!

This week, the children were engaged in a fun and educational Healthy Food Pretend Play activity!

The children worked in groups to "shop" for healthy food to create balanced plates. They learned to identify, explore, and differentiate between healthy and unhealthy foods.

They also learn to make nutritious choices by identifying and selecting healthy food options over unhealthy ones.
The children discussed why certain foods are better for our bodies than others.

This activity helped the children reflect on the impact of food choices on their bodies and well-being, and encouraged responsibility for making healthy lifestyle choices from a young age.

World Water Day is a special day that emphasises the need of conserving and safeguarding water. Everything that exists require water, which we use every day for drinking, cooking, and cleaning. At our preschool, we observe this day by learning fun facts about water and how to use it responsibly. We participated in fun activities to learn why water should never be wasted. By learning these skills early on, we can help preserve our world health in the future.

The Secret of Shadows

During Chinese lesson, the children experimented with shadow and light to understand the relationship between shadow formation, position change, and light. They learnt how to
use simple symbols to record data in a table. They also had the opportunity to collaborate with peers during the experiment and discuss observations and findings.

The children created 3D elephant models using recycled materials inspired by the beloved character Elmer, the colourful patchwork elephant. This creative activity not only allowed them to explore texture, colour, and form but also encouraged self-expression as they experimented with different patterns and designs.
