Our College students and alumni have always known our roots and where we came from.

2023 RemiNYscence - Nanyang JC 27 May

Nanyang Junior College will be celebrating its 45th Anniversary on 27th May 2023 from 2 pm to 4 pm at our college premises.

Connect with your fellow college mates from your batches and come and join us as we tour round the college compound, take part in games and activities and share our experiences during our times in the college, the good, the bad, the ugly and the fun!

From the 1st batch to the current batch, from the used to be young ones to the truly young ones, we can clearly see how much we have grown as a college and alumni, and how far we have come.

Do come and be surprised! The meeting of the old guards and the new bloods will be very memorable for everyone. Come with your families, children and loved ones!

Following our college day on Saturday 13th May 2023, I am confident the college management will have lots to share! It is really a time to catch up with our former teachers and staff, and to catch up with one another over the good, the memorable and silly times we had together!

Tribute to Mr Leow Wee Seong, former Head of Chinese Department, Nanyang Junior College

Some of you have asked about the health condition of our former Head of Chinese, the late Mr Leow Wee Seong.

Sadly, the late Mr Leow passed away on 7th March 2023.

Mr Leow had been a wonderful Head of Department, an excellent Chinese teacher, a constant mentor and a confidante to many students in NYJC.

Mr Leow took upon himself to check on the students' Chinese proficiency and never hesitated to give endless consultations to students who were weak in the subject or wanted to improve their spoken or written Chinese.

He was an icon in the early years of NYJC for those who met and knew him. We owe him our gratitude for his commitment and dedication to NYJC.

Thank you, Mr Leow. You are a Champion.

You will be sadly missed.

May you rest in peace.

This is the news that NYJC has been patiently waiting for the past 45 years. Yes, humbly climbing up the steps all through the years to where we are today.

Yes, we always wanted to be the best, but yet we are not complacent. We recognise and respect our fellow junior colleges, many can be considered to be our seniors.

Have the students changed? Have the teachers changed? I personally believe that NYJC has good students from the beginning, and has excellent teachers and staff from the start. It is the spirit of NYJC that remains steadfast through the years, where the college management and staff, as well as the students over the successive years, build upon the foundation, strength, confidence, trust and belief of their predecessors. The passing of the batons, each better than the last, exhibits the determination of the college to be an all rounder college where students are free to pursue their own personal interests, are free to dream and dare to dream, to be creative and to be able to think out of the box.

We still strongly believe that every junior college is a good college and has its own unique qualities, specific areas of strength, capabilities and abilities, and the continuous inter-collegiate activities truly augment each college's foundation to be even better.

The strengths of all the junior colleges form the bulwark, the pillars of our universities, locally and overseas, and our undergraduates and postgraduates always never fail to shine and stand out.

While we congratulate all junior colleges, we salute NYJC for achieving the ultimate pinnacle, which is well earned, well deserved, and which is 45 years in the making.

We truly deserve a wonderful 45th Anniversary Celebration this year indeed.

Bravo, we are a rising fountain with our hopes reaching up to the skies. We stand united on the strong foundation that we built.
