Punggol West CC Toastmasters Club

In the Punggol West CC Toastmasters Club October chapter meeting, our fellow member Division Level Champion, Aaron Ong, equipped us with a valuable toolkit for handling impromptu speeches. He shared insightful tips and provided a hands-on opportunity for practice, helping us prepare for unexpected speaking challenges.

In November, the reinforcement of these skills continued under the expert guidance of veteran Toastmaster Darrell Tan (The Money Mastery and Singapore International Toastmasters Club). Every attendee had the chance to take the stage, delivering an impromptu speech on a given topic while utilizing one of the following models: PREP (Point, Reason, Example, Point), Chronological, or Pro and Con/Pendulum. Each speaker received detailed feedback on their use of these models, as well as the overall quality of their content, which helped refine their impromptu speaking abilities.

The meeting also featured thought-provoking prepared speeches, followed by evaluations from fellow club members. This session was particularly notable as several members took on new roles, including Toastmaster of the Day (Thiru), and evaluators (Ennice and Kian Teck) for the first time. Their willingness to step up and challenge themselves made the meeting even more engaging and dynamic.

We look forward to our next chapter meeting, the final one of 2024, scheduled for December 16th. We hope to see you all there for an inspiring close to the year!

The "Wow" factor was unmistakable at the Punggol West CC 43rd Chapter Meeting on October 21st. The presence of esteemed veteran Toastmasters, including District Director Muhd Nur Hakim, DTM, Vincent Chen, DTM, Division Director Zuhriyyah Ariffin, E4 Area Director Hatta Ibrahim, Darrell Tan, Kelvin, Hassan Mulaydi, and Duriati, infused the event with energy reminiscent of a vibrant Deepawali celebration.

Collaboration is key to a successful meeting! Special thanks go to our TMOD, Soon Tong, our dedicated SAA and Timer, Kian Teck, our VP PR Ennice for the delicious Pizza , and our VP Membership, Arun Srinivaas, for warmly welcoming and attending to our guests.

For each Speaker, the privilege of being evaluated by such seasoned Toastmasters was invaluable. Their insightful feedback demonstrated exceptional skill and was highly constructive for the speakers.

Additionally, Aaron Ong, our Division-level champion, led an engaging impromptu speaking session, ensuring every participant had the chance to master the art firsthand.

Our "Ha Ha" brothers, Hassan Mulaydi and Muhd Nur Hakim, DTM, served as Language Evaluators for the day, guiding us with keen observations on effective English usage and areas for improvement.

"Rejuvenating" is the perfect word to describe the atmosphere of yesterday's meeting. We eagerly look forward to seeing everyone at the next session, scheduled for November 18th, 2024.

Yet another fun-filled PWCC TMC chapter meeting was conducted on June 24th, 2024. It culminated on a high note as our Language Evaluator, Penny Radcliffe, shared with us her observations on the language usage by the speakers during the session. She left us speechless with her eloquence and knowledge.
Aaron Ting, DTM, in his role as a Project Evaluator, brilliantly provided us with useful tips to elevate the level of our speech delivery.
The impromptu session, woven around the theme "Through the Traveler's Eyes," was insightful and loaded with practical wisdom.
Congratulations to the speakers for taking a step forward in your journey as Toastmasters.
In the next meeting, scheduled for July 15th, 2024, the new Exco Team for the 2024-2025 term will be installed. Join us to be part of this momentous occasion.
