24 July 2026
Conference Hall | Sands Expo & Convention Centre

[Happy Cities for Life]
By Ar. Seah Chee Huang (Festival Director 2009–2011) & Yann Follain (Festival Director 2018)

Amidst climate urgency and social divides, this roundtable calls for a radical shift, from object-making to life-making, from exclusive authorship to inclusive agency, and from static solutions to adaptive systems.

Set within the equatorial context where density and diversity collide, the roundtable advances three imperatives: sustainability beyond metrics, shared identity shaped by communities, and regenerative practice that enables cities to repair, renew, and evolve.

More than a discussion about better buildings, this is a call to collectively reimagine a resilient, profoundly human built environment as a living system designed for life.

[What Future]
By Prof. Ar. Richard Ho, Ar. Chio Wen Tian & Ar. Sri Saravanan (Festival Directors 2015–2016)

Bringing together voices from students and former student leaders across generations, the discussion considers how younger architects might continue to shape the culture and direction of the profession amid broader local and global shifts. Beyond the challenges facing architecture today, the session explores its possibilities: what hopes we still hold for the profession, what values should continue to guide it, and how architecture might remain relevant through stronger engagement with adjacent disciplines, parallel communities, and the active participation of younger voices.

Singapore Archifest Forum [Education & Inclusivity Forum]

Architectural education plays a critical role in shaping not only the skills of future architects, but also how they think about design, responsibility, and the communities they serve. Today, this formation takes place within a rapidly evolving landscape marked by abundant information, accelerating technologies, and expanding professional expectations. As digital tools transform design processes and practice grows increasingly specialised, architectural schools face new questions about what—and who—they are preparing students to become.

This panel explores how architectural education can respond to these shifts while continuing to cultivate architects who are not only technically capable, but also empathetic, thoughtful, and responsible stewards of the built environment. Through discussion between educators, practitioners, and advocates, the session will examine the changing landscape of architectural education, the balance between specialist and generalist formation, and the role of schools in nurturing leadership and social awareness in the next generation of architects.

Panellists:
• Ar. Khoo Peng Beng, SUTD Singapore University of Technology & Design
• Larry Yeung, Participate In Design
• Alvin Zhu,

Singapore Archifest Forum [Leadership Forum]

As the architectural profession evolves across Asia, the meaning of leadership is also being redefined by a new generation of architects. Moving beyond traditional hierarchies, emerging professionals are shaping leadership through collaboration, purpose-driven practice, and a stronger sense of social and environmental responsibility. At the same time, young architects continue to navigate shared challenges across the region - from demanding work cultures and limited mentorship to questions of career mobility and professional recognition.

Bringing together voices from the ARCASIA Committee of Young Architects (ACYA), this dialogue explores how emerging architects are responding to these realities while stepping into leadership roles within their practices and communities. Through regional perspectives and personal experiences, the forum will examine how the next generation can lead with resilience, innovation, and responsibility, shaping a profession that is more sustainable, inclusive, and forward-looking for the future.

Panellists:
• Qhawarizmi Norhisham (Malaysia)
• Luke Soriquez (Philippines)
• Khaulah Adnan (Brunei)
• Denny Setiawan (Indonesia)
• Nguyen Xuan Man (Vietnam)
• Suttahathai Niyomwas (Thailand)

[Design, Renew, Repeat]
By Ar. Razvan I. Ghilic-Micu (Festival Director 2021) & Calvin Chua (Festival Director 2023)

Two Archifest directors. Two editions. One shared conviction: the most important buildings in our cities may already exist.

What does it actually take to give a building its second life?

Bringing together architects, developers, engineers, financiers, and sustainability advocates, the session explores what it truly takes to give buildings a second life, and why re-lifing is not just a design question, but one of will, capital and collective stewardship.

[Rethinking Singapore: Can Architecture Still Save Our World?]
By A/Prof. Chong Keng Hua (Festival Director 2020) & Adib Jalal (Festival Director 2012–2013)

As geopolitical instability, climate volatility, fragile supply chains, rapid AI transformation, widening inequality, and the realities of a super-aged society intensify, what must architecture become, in a world where cities are no longer episodic, but constant?

What forms of care, resilience, and agency must architecture now support? How can design respond to both hyper-local needs and planetary constraints? What new alliances with technology, communities, and other disciplines must be forged? And how can we redefine the architecture profession’s role in shaping Singapore and the region in the decades ahead?

4PLUS8, Key Presenter at Singapore Archifest Expo 2026, presents:

Shinnoki
An introduction to material clarity.

At Shinnoki, the idea is simple—wood surfaces, thoughtfully resolved before they reach site.
Each veneer is prefinished, ensuring consistency in tone, grain, and finish, while reducing the unpredictability of on-site treatment.
Offered in 3000mm lengths, the panels allow for longer, uninterrupted applications—minimising joints and enhancing spatial continuity.
A considered approach to veneer, where material, process, and outcome are aligned from the start.
