Fathers@WSPS Father-Child Bonding Camp 2026

Fathers@WSPS proudly organised the Father-Child Bonding Camp 2026 on 30–31 May, bringing fathers and children together for an unforgettable overnight experience!

From icebreaker games and outdoor cooking to traditional favourites such as Five Stones, Gasing and Chapteh, every activity was thoughtfully designed to strengthen bonds through laughter, teamwork and shared experiences. Fathers had the opportunity to relive their childhood while passing on values such as perseverance, coordination and sportsmanship to their children.

The camp concluded with a lively campfire session and a hearty breakfast the next morning, providing families with one final opportunity to celebrate their time together and reflect on the meaningful memories they had created.

We hope that every father and child left with a deeper appreciation for one another and cherished memories that will last a lifetime!

GROW With Me! Conversations 2026

Our annual GROW With Me! Conversations, held on 28 and 29 May, provided a meaningful platform for students to take ownership of their learning journey and celebrate their progress alongside their parents and teachers.

99.6% of parents surveyed agreed that the conversations helped them better understand their child’s growth and development in Semester 1. We are also grateful for the positive affirmations from parents regarding the programme, one of which is featured below:

"The session was very well-organised. I appreciate that the teacher didn't just focus on exam marks, but provided deep, specific insights into my child's classroom behaviour, focus and social interactions. The feedback was balanced and highly actionable."

More than just a reflection on academic performance, the GROW With Me! Conversations celebrated a growth mindset, resilience, gratitude and the belief that every learner has the potential to shine. Together, we continue to nurture confident learners who are ready to grow, learn and succeed—one step at a time.

A huge milestone for Lensa Si Cilik 2026! 🎉

WSPS and MOE’s Malay Language Learning and Promotion Committee proudly celebrated a record-breaking 72 submissions — the highest number since the programme’s launch in 2023.

Through storytelling, proverbs, and values-based learning, young talents continue to demonstrate that learning extends far beyond the classroom.

Congratulations to the Top 20 winning schools for raising the bar higher than ever and inspiring the next generation of storytellers! 🌟

Seven students from the Computing Club participated in a two-day bootcamp where they developed foundational skills in coding, pitching and presentation. Through hands-on activities, they explored a range of AI applications, including speech recognition, facial recognition, chatbots and human pose estimation.

The students also attended inspiring talks on AI tools for the ageing population, design thinking in industrial design, and innovations in healthcare. The bootcamp aimed to inspire and equip students to apply their coding knowledge in refining a prototype that supports independent living for seniors in Singapore as part of the National Thinkers Challenge.

Honouring Our Unsung Heroes: Student Leadership in Action

Our school commemorated Non-Teaching Staff Appreciation Day with a meaningful student-led celebration that showcased leadership, empathy, and gratitude.

Anchored on the theme of appreciation, students organised a special programme to honour the non-teaching staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our school running smoothly. The celebration featured a mini musical performance comprising a skit, song, and piano recital, each expressing heartfelt thanks for their dedication and care.

To foster deeper appreciation within the school community, students also conducted an interactive quiz that highlighted the diverse roles and contributions of our non-teaching staff.

The event concluded with a breakfast reception, where students presented personalised photo frames created through the Primary 3 Values in Action programme, alongside creatively designed thank-you pencil cases by members of the Art Club.

Through this initiative, our students demonstrated purposeful leadership by rallying the school community to recognise and celebrate the unsung heroes who support our learning journey every day.

From 19 to 23 May, our White Sandians embarked on an enriching Overseas Learning Journey to Suzhou, China, under the school’s Global Outreach Programme.

Over five days, our students took part in immersive lessons at Wujiang Experimental Primary School (Taihu Campus) and Suzhou Industrial Park No. 3 Experimental Primary School. They interacted with local peers, joined classes, and gained meaningful insights into school life and culture in Suzhou.

Beyond the classroom, our students explored Suzhou’s rich heritage at iconic landmarks such as the Humble Administrator’s Garden, Suzhou Silk Museum, Qi Li Shan Tang Historical Street, and Mudu Water Town. They also enjoyed hands-on cultural activities, including traditional garden window model-making and crafting Song Jin lucky bag pendants.

Throughout the journey, our White Sandians exemplified independence, resilience, adaptability, and graciousness. We are proud of how they represented White Sands Primary with confidence, curiosity, and care—building friendships, broadening perspectives, and creating memories to last a lifetime.

🎶✨ My Stage @ Recess ✨🎶

Last Friday, 22 May, our students brought music, dance, and excitement to the P3 and P6 recesses through My Stage!

The audience was treated to a wonderful variety of performances — from piano pieces such as Rainbow, which beautifully captured the joy and wonder of seeing a rainbow, the classic Pachelbel’s Canon in D, and the soothing Song of Twilight by Japanese composer Yoshinao Nakada, to the lively Chinese painting-inspired piece Sparkling Splashes & Smooth Water.

Students also wowed the crowd with a live ensemble performance featuring vocals, ukulele, and cajón, while another talented performer thrilled everyone with an energetic moonwalk to the evergreen hit Beat It by Michael Jackson.

The atmosphere was truly electric, and we are incredibly proud of our talented and courageous student performers for confidently sharing their gifts and passion with the school community. 👏🌟

Thank you for the wonderful performances — we look forward to the next My Stage in Term 3!

“This is the way we make prata! Make prata, make prata…
This is the way we make prata. It’s our favourite food!” 🎶

Our Primary 2 students sang this cheerful jingle before the start of the Prata-making Workshop, eagerly anticipating the hands-on experience ahead.

During the workshop, the students learnt about the origins of prata and the ingredients used to make it. They also had the opportunity to handle the prata dough and practise various techniques such as patting, kneading, flipping, and stretching the dough.

At the end of the experiential session, the students were rewarded with freshly made prata, which they enjoyed with either sugar or curry. It was truly a fun and meaningful learning experience for all!

Our Primary 1 students had a wonderful learning experience at the zoo! Through enriching experiential activities linked to their STELLAR units, they learnt interesting facts about different animals and their habitats.

The students also enjoyed a tram ride around the zoo, taking in the scenic views before being entertained by the humorous antics of the sea lions at the “Splash Safari” show.

During the behind-the-scenes session at the “Animal Behaviour & Enrichment Centre”, the students discovered how animals are trained and cared for in ways that nurture their natural behaviours and promote positive animal-human interactions, while also learning about sustainable practices.

Our students certainly had an enjoyable and meaningful day at the zoo with their teachers and friends!

🤖 Ready for a robot adventure? 🌟

Our Primary 1 learners stepped into the exciting world of coding through the Applied Learning Programme with the KUBO robot! Through hands-on exploration and interactive activities, they were introduced to basic computational thinking in a fun and meaningful way.

As they guided their robots through different challenges, our young learners learnt to think logically, solve problems creatively, and collaborate with their peers. These engaging experiences also helped to build communication skills, perseverance, and confidence as they learnt through play and discovery.

It has been wonderful watching our P1 learners explore, experiment, and cheer one another on during their robot adventures. Learning truly comes alive when curiosity, creativity, and fun come together! 🚀
