Put to Sleep

When it is bedtime, parents with young children will insist that their children get to bed early.

I will PUT my children TO SLEEP every night, before I start my work.

This is Incorrect! To put a living thing to sleep is to end its life.

For example, some animals are put to sleep because their injuries were too severe.

The correct way to express it is...

PUT TO BED

I PUT my children TO BED every night at 10pm.
