During our Vesak Day rehearsal, parents stepped forward for the sing-along and dance segment. They practised after work, contributed ideas together, and even came up with their own dance formations.

2 mothers sang in Mandarin even though they do not speak the language.

A few parents learnt the songs using Hanyu Pinyin.

4 parents volunteered themselves for the dance segment.

A total of 14 parents participated in tonight’s rehearsal. 🎶

15 years ago, Ilyssa began her journey at My Little Gems Preschool as a little girl with big dreams.

Through moments of creativity, curiosity, collaboration, and confidence-building, My Little Gems Preschool sought to nurture the foundations that would one day help her soar.

Today, we celebrate her remarkable journey — from achieving straight A’s at Singapore Chinese Girls’ School, to becoming one of the top students at Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), and now earning a place in National University of Singapore Medicine. 👩‍⚕️✨

Her journey is a reminder that every child carries dreams within them, and all they need is a place to wonder, explore, and believe.

Congratulations, Ilyssa, on your remarkable achievement!

On most days, Ambassador Dana Baschová of the Czech Republic meets the heads of a country — including President Tharman Shanmugaratnam.

But today, Her Excellency Dana Baschová changed her schedule to meet a different group of “heads” — the curious little minds of My Little Gems Preschool.

What a truly special and heartwarming moment it was as our children welcomed such an important guest!

Ambassador Dana Baschová shared about her role in such a warm and engaging way, helping the children understand how she builds friendships between countries.

Together with Monika and Sakra from the Czech Embassy, our children went on a little journey to the Czech Republic — discovering the four seasons, animals, beautiful castles, and fun activities children enjoy there. The room was filled with excitement, laughter, and so many eager questions.

The children were also thrilled to receive prizes and maps of the Czech Republic — a wonderful reminder of a very meaningful day

A big thank you to Ambassador Dana Baschová for making learning come alive in such a memorable way. Today, our Little Gems truly felt like the most important “heads” of all.

From Boardroom to Classroom

Yesterday afternoon, Jaromír and Jaruška, founders of Heaton Healthcare Group (https://www.heaton.cz), traded the boardroom for the classroom — stepping into My Little Gems Preschool to spend a meaningful afternoon with our children.

Despite being on a busy business trip, they chose to pause and be present with our Little Gems. And in that moment, titles quietly faded — they were simply “Grandpa” and “Grandma.”
“Grandpa” Jaromír brought the children on a journey into his childhood — sharing how he used to pick mushrooms in the forest, what his home looked like, and a gentle story about The Little Mole and the Egg. The classroom was filled with curiosity, laughter, and wide-eyed wonder as the children listened, imagined, and asked questions.

What made the moment even more special was this — behind someone who has built an international pharmaceutical company is a person who still carries the simplicity and joy of childhood, and is willing to share it.

From humble beginnings in Prague in 2002, Jaromír and Jaruška grew Heaton Healthcare Group into an international organisation serving many parts of the world. Yet, in our classroom, they were not founders or business leaders — they were storytellers, connecting heart to heart with our children.
Moments like these remind us that education is not just about knowledge, but about encounters.

Because sometimes, the most meaningful lessons come not from what is taught — but from who we meet.

🌙✨ Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir dan Batin!💚🕌

👣🎉Our children stepped into Hari Raya with excitement, giggles, and festive cheer! Dressed in their beautiful traditional outfits, our children were ready to explore, learn, and celebrate together.

👗🧕Twirl, pose, and smile! From baju kurung to baju melayu, our children proudly showed off their Hari Raya looks while learning about traditional clothing. So stylish!

🎶💃Cue the music! Our children danced happily to Hari Raya songs, clapping, moving, and enjoying every joyful beat.

🎲✨Kick, toss, and play! Our children had so much fun trying out traditional Malay games like chapteh and guli, filled with laughter and excitement.

🍡🍰Yummy discoveries! Our children explored festive treats like onde-onde and kueh, learning about the delicious foods enjoyed during Hari Raya.

🔍🖼️A little treasure hunt! Our children searched for Hari Raya picture cards like wau, duit raya, mosque, and lampu pelita, spotting familiar and new symbols of the celebration.

👠🌈And of course—the highlight! Dance and catwalk time, where our children confidently showcased their traditional outfits with big smiles and happy struts.

💛✨Through play, dance, and discovery, our children learned about culture and traditions in the most fun and meaningful way.

🌍🚑🚒 Ready for a Community Adventure!

👩‍⚕️👨‍🚒👮‍♂️✈️ Our little learners transformed into amazing community helpers as they dressed up as doctors, firefighters, chefs, police officers, mailmen, and pilots. Off we went on a fun “Community Adventure” to explore how people in our community help one another every day!

🏥🩺 At the hospital, our young doctors and nurses discovered tools like syringes and learned how these helpers care for people who are sick.

🚓🚨 At the police station, our brave police officers helped keep the community safe and learned about the tools they use to protect others.

🚒🔥 At the fire station, our little firefighters were ready to respond to emergencies and keep everyone safe.

🏫📚 At the school, our little teachers and students explored how teachers help children learn new things every day.

🧳✈️ At the airport, our children explored items used for travelling, such as luggage and other travel essentials. They learned how pilots help people travel safely from one place to another.

🧰🔎 Along the way, our children explored different tools used in each place and matched them to the correct community helper. Through hands-on activities and teamwork games, they discovered how different roles work together to support and care for our community.

💛🌟 Through play, exploration, and imagination, our children learned that every helper plays an important role in making our community a wonderful place to live.

🫀🎉 Little Doctors in Action!🎉🫀

👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️Our children transformed into little doctors, ready with curious minds and gentle hands as they explored one of the most important parts of our body — the heart.

🩺👂 They listened to their friends’ heartbeats — thump-thump! — giggling and concentrating as they tried to hear their hearts at work.

🫀🤔 What’s inside our heart?
Four amazing chambers! Right atrium, left atrium, right ventricle, and left ventricle. Tricky names, but our children were curious, attentive, and eager to give it a try!

🤲💥 The excitement continued as our children pumped a pretend heart, helping them understand how blood moves through the heart as it pumps.

❤️🌈 The session also included simple ways to take care of the heart, such as staying active, eating well, and being kind to friends.

A joyful session filled with curiosity, laughter, and meaningful learning 💕
