Teacher Ping School of Music

After our students' concert, we didn't stop performing, we just changed the stage ! 🎹

With piano competitions coming up, Teacher Ing encouraged her students to Play It Forward at the public pianos to keep the momentum going.

Some were a little hesitant at first.

"What if people are watching?"
"What if I make mistakes?"
"What if I lose my focus?"

But once they started playing, something changed.

Instead of feeling judged, they saw people smiling, stopping to listen, and even waiting for their turn to play. It became more than just practice. It’s a great chance to build confidence, stay focused despite distractions, and simply enjoy sharing their music.

Music isn't only about preparing for the next competition or exam. It's about having the confidence to share it with others. You never know that you might just brighten someone's day, inspire another musician, or even discover something new about yourself.

Sometimes, all it takes is one piece to make a difference. 💙🎹

This boy is currently serving his National Service, but before he went to serve his country, he asked his mom if he could learn the violin.

Mom was surprised with his request as this was a boy who loved soccer, and was a very active sportsman. She gladly signed him up for a trial session with Teacher Hui Xin, and he began his music journey at the violin in his teens.

Thanks to Hui Xin, he gets to learn a new skill, coordinating his body, emotion and mind to create beautiful music. (Ok. Maybe a few scratches here and there, but its beautiful for a beginner student)

Teacher Hui Xin is opening a class at our Citygate@Beach Road location on Sunday 9:30am to 10am, starting from July 2026. The class will be a small group size of 2 to 3. It's not a class for teens but she will be happy to work with any kid from 4 years + to 7 years old.
