✨ International Women’s Day(IWD) at CoachSG – Give to Gain ✨

This March, we’re celebrating IWD the CoachSG way — through learning, sharing, and growing together. 💪💬

With one workshop every week, we’re creating spaces for coaches to connect, reflect, and give back to the community that shapes us. From the power of mentoring, to conversations on menstrual health, coach wellbeing, and coach-parent relationships — each session is designed to support meaningful journeys in coaching and sport.

Because when we give our time, stories, and support — we all gain. 🌱

Here’s to uplifting women in coaching, strengthening connections, and learning together this IWD.

For Coach Azhar Yusof, leading Team Singapore’s wheelchair rugby team has been both challenging and deeply rewarding. New to the sport but guided by experience, he has learned alongside his athletes, inspired by their commitment, resilience, and willingness to show up — session after session — despite the obstacles they face.

As wheelchair rugby makes its debut at the ASEAN Para Games, Azhar’s focus is clear: prepare the team physically and mentally, help them believe in their abilities, and represent Singapore with pride.

Para sport is not about limitations. It’s about opportunity, effort, and what becomes possible when we focus on ability over disability.

As Team Singapore prepares for Thailand 2026, he hopes Singaporeans will not only support para athletes, but also come forward to volunteer with the Para Sport Academy — helping build a stronger, more inclusive sporting community. 🇸🇬💪

From national archer to para coach, Pang Qing Liang believes great coaching is about helping athletes adapt, believe, and maximise their potential.

In para archery, success is not about lowering standards. Athletes compete under strict classifications, often scoring on par with able-bodied competitors.

What makes the sport unique is the creativity required — adapting equipment, environments, and training so athletes can perform at their best.

As Team Singapore prepares for the ASEAN Para Games, Coach Pang focuses on adaptability, self-belief, and trusting the process. His hope is simple: that his athletes enjoy the journey, stay present, and let the outcome take care of itself.

Coaching para table tennis is not about shortcuts. For Coach Goh Chyuan, it’s about patience, persistence, and people.

He began as a volunteer in 2011, supporting athletes who faced daily challenges just to reach training. Over time, he has watched them grow stronger, healthier, and more confident, building the programme from the ground up through trust and commitment.

Para sport, he says, is not easier or less competitive. Athletes compete within strict classifications, earning every point through skill and discipline.

As Team Singapore heads into the ASEAN Para Games, his wish is simple: compete with confidence, give their best, and feel supported every step of the way. 🇸🇬🏓
