When Nikki is caught in an emotional storm, she turns to origami. As she focuses on each careful fold, her racing thoughts begin to slow and her overwhelming feelings gradually settle. Fold by fold, she finds her way out of the storm and back to calm.

This week, we learn about the life of oak trees and the many benefits they provide. Oak trees support many forms of life, from microscopic organisms and fungi to insects, birds, and a host of mammals. Their trunks, branches, leaves, and acorns provide food, shelter, and places to store winter supply. Oak trees also help create a healthier environment by purifying the air, reducing wind speeds, regulating local microclimates, and helping to prevent flooding.
