As we near the finalization of our partnership agreement with Singapore Asia Publishers (SAP) for our e-shop, it signifies the beginning of an exciting new chapter for us. When I reflect on how far we had come—from helping educators create video lessons, which is still an ongoing effort, to now having our own e-shop—it’s truly humbling to see how much we had grown. This partnership marks an exciting new chapter, but it also makes me pause and think about the path that led us here.
We began with meeting countless educators and conducting video training workshops through the Community of Tutors (COT), and over time, we began to notice how the pieces of the puzzle were slowly coming together. The more people we met, the clearer it became that every conversation, every relationship, played a role in guiding us forward. What stands out most from this journey is the importance of staying open and humble.
At times, it’s easy to be selective about who we engage with or who we choose to listen to, but I have learnt that the real value lies in staying open to everyone. Whether it’s an educator who’s willing to share their knowledge for an hour or someone from a completely different background, each person has something meaningful to offer. In the end, I have come to realize that this lesson isn't just important for us, but for anyone running a tuition business—or really, any business. The willingness to listen, to learn from others, and to remain open-minded can make all the difference in how we grow and evolve.
This journey has reinforced the idea that staying open to others and embracing new perspectives can lead to growth in ways we never imagined. I believe this approach can benefit any business, big or small, because the connections we make along the way are often the keys to our success. Rayvaithi Alagappan— feeling grateful.

Today, educators do more than just teach—they often become pivotal figures in their students' lives, sometimes even more influential than their own parents. Therefore, it's crucial for educators to develop parenting skills to better guide and support their students. These skills are not only beneficial for students. It can also be applied to one's own children.
Answered.sg is excited to expand our content offerings to include parenting and educator training, in addition to our existing academic resources for students. This expansion aligns with our goal of fostering a comprehensive learning community for students, parents, and educators.
Our inaugural parenting course, "Foundations for Parenting: Essential Skills for Raising Well-Rounded Children," was created by Monica Menon, a seasoned educator and consultant in the educational industry. How many O Level coding tutors do you know exist in Singapore?
When I first saw her TikTok account, "Academy of Coding," I thought, "Is this lady crazy?" She kept talking about an O Level coding syllabus. I wondered if there really was coding in the Singapore MOE O Level curriculum. My curiosity and pride led me to meet her and find out whether she was delusional or if I was the one who was ignorant.
It turns out I was the ignorant idiot. MOE secondary schools do offer Coding as an O Level subject!
Meet Sophia, the first coding tutor for O Levels that I know of in Singapore. Despite her vibrant TikTok persona, I was expecting to meet a high-energy tutor eager to discuss the latest in AI. Instead, she appeared calm, pleasantly spoken, and confidently humble.
Sophia's journey began years ago when she founded her own coding school. She experienced early success, which attracted the attention of large educational corporations. However, Sophia didn't agree with their corporate approach to education and ultimately chose to leave the industry.
Even though she left at a high point in her entrepreneurial journey, her passion for teaching remained strong because she believes education should not be corporatized. Today, she has launched her own online Academy of Coding to reignite her passion for teaching. This is her story.
As I've listened to each educator's story, I've realized that every tutor or teacher brings their unique beliefs into their teaching methods, shaped by their personal experiences. These experiences influence their approach to teaching and, when combined with their passion, make each educator distinctive.
Initially, I thought Answered.sg was simply a platform to showcase educators’ knowledge through digital lessons to students and parents. However, my perspective has shifted. I've come to understand that these digital lessons are shaped by the educators' life experiences. It's not just simply about the sharing of knowledge; the digital lessons are telling the stories of the educators.
How is one's success defined? Will you as a parent standby your child and support your child's decision, even though they might be choosing unconventional path?

And finally, we crossed paths in person. During our meeting, Rajiv shared his journey into education. At first glance, he embodies the image of a diligent educator in his neatly buttoned-up shirt. But don't be fooled by his traditional appearance! Beneath the scholarly exterior beats the heart of a dynamic and forward-thinking educator. His vision for leveraging technology to transform education paints him more as a cheerful visionary than a stern academic.
