Congratulations to Cheryl Koh, Ayla Lo, Lincoln Heng and Maryam Saliha, graduates of NP's Diploma in Environmental & Water Technology (now known as Environmental Science & Sustainability), on this remarkable achievement.​
​
As PUB scholars, they share a commitment to strengthening Singapore's water resilience and sustainability. Their interests span urban infrastructure, coastal protection, water systems and environmental monitoring, inspired by hands-on learning and industry experiences gained during their time at NP.​
​
The scholarship recognises their academic excellence, dedication and potential to help address some of tomorrow's most pressing environmental challenges. We look forward to seeing the impact they will make in shaping a more sustainable future for Singapore.​

The SS Scholarships were presented by Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, at the award ceremony.​

As schools explore how best to meaningfully integrate AI into teaching and learning, we were glad to have the opportunity to share NP’s experiences and learning with fellow education leaders.

Yesterday, we welcomed 26 school leaders from MOE West 6 Cluster to NP for a Learning Journey on AI in Education. The session provided an opportunity to share what we have learnt from our own AI transformation journey, while exchanging perspectives on what AI means for teaching and learning.

Through presentations, discussions and a learning tour, participants gained insights into how NP is approaching AI at both the organisational and classroom levels, from building staff capabilities and fostering an AI-ready culture to rethinking curriculum and assessment for an AI-enabled future.

Our Principal & CEO, Kok Kiang Lim, and Senior Director & Registrar and Director of NP's Centre for Learning & Teaching Excellence, Lynn Fong, shared leadership perspectives on navigating AI adoption, including the opportunities and challenges involved, as well as lessons we have learnt along the way.

At our School of InfoComm Technology - Ngee Ann Polytechnic, participants also saw how AI is being translated into teaching practice. This included NP's PAIR (Problem, AI, Interaction, Reflection) framework, which guides students to engage with AI critically, responsibly and effectively as part of their learning.

As AI continues to evolve, exchanges like these provide valuable opportunities for educators to share what is working, learn from one another, and consider how we can best prepare our learners for the future.

🌿 NP Library Wins International Sustainability Award at IFLA WLIC 2026! 🏆

The Lien Ying Chow Library at Ngee Ann Polytechnic has been awarded 3rd Place in the IFLA Green Library Project Award 2026 at WLIC 2026 in Busan, South Korea.

Our project, Library of Tomorrow: Blueprint for Sustainable Futures, was recognised for its forward-looking approach to sustainability through automation, service transformation, and operational innovation.

Congratulations to our alumni Andrew Roy Toh Yung Weii and Chau Pei En on their outstanding achievements at the inaugural National University of Singapore College Commencement Ceremony! 🎓

Andrew, a Mass Communication graduate (Class of 2020), was named NUS College Valedictorian. Beyond his academic achievements, he played a key role in building the college community through student and residential leadership, while leading a sustainability-focused project in the Philippines that brought environmental education to local communities.

Pei En, a Diploma in Optometry graduate (Class of 2021), received the Tin Chew Hong Prize for academic excellence and outstanding commitment to community service. A dedicated volunteer and leader, she has championed initiatives supporting elderly residents and communities across eldercare, youth, palliative care and disability sectors.

While their paths have taken them in different directions, both Andrew and Pei En share a desire to create meaningful impact beyond themselves. We wish them all the best and look forward to what comes next!

Nothing makes us prouder than seeing our alumni take the next step towards their dreams. This month, a whopping 13 NP graduates donned their first white coats at the White Coat Ceremonies of University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. 🥼



Their journeys began in our Biomedical Science and Nursing programmes, where hands-on learning, clinical exposure and a commitment to caring for others helped lay strong foundations for a future in healthcare.



The white coat marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Congratulations to all 13 on this significant milestone! We look forward to seeing the difference you will make in healthcare and in the lives of the patients you will one day care for.

There was a time when Solana Maria Mendoza felt quiet, directionless and out of place in school. Today, the 23-year-old has found a sense of purpose in serving others.

What started as community-service assignments during her ITE studies soon grew into a passion for helping others. Through mentoring children from vulnerable families, supporting children with special needs, and serving communities overseas, Solana found confidence, purpose and a voice she never knew she had.

Her dedication earned her the National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) Gold Award last year, after contributing more than 300 hours of volunteer service.

Today, the final-year student in our Diploma in Psychology & Community Development is interning with the Singapore Children's Society and hopes to build a career supporting children and youths.

From award-winning idea to real-world retail, our students are bringing SenseBoard, a self-initiated social innovation project, to the public at VivoCity.



Developed by Team AdaptAble, SenseBoard is a versatile toolbox designed to help educators create more inclusive learning environments for children with diverse needs.



The idea first gained recognition at the inaugural Mapletree Budding Entrepreneurs Challenge (MBEC), where AdaptAble emerged as one of four winning teams from 35 submissions and 12 finalists. The team received S$4,000 in prize money and S$6,000 in seed funding to bring its solution to life.



Hosted by Mapletree, MBEC challenges young innovators to develop solutions that address community needs and test them in a live retail setting. At the pop-up, 70% of net booth profits will support a selected charity.

Behind the scenes of NDP 2026, final-year students from School of Film & Media Studies, Ngee Ann Polytechnic helped tell the stories, celebrate the people and engage the crowds through three capstone projects that contributed to this year's National Day celebrations. 🇸🇬

Students from our Diploma in Film, Sound & Video produced Show Tribute, a film screened for NDP participants ahead of show day in recognition of their hard work and commitment. Along the way, they interviewed performers and participants from diverse backgrounds, and documented the journey from rehearsals at Singapore Expo to the National Stadium.

Their second production, Special Moments, shines a spotlight on the pride, dedication and camaraderie of parade marchers, volunteers and the many individuals working behind the scenes. The film will be screened at the upcoming NDP Appreciation Function.

Meanwhile, students from our Diploma in Media Post-Production (now known as Diploma in Stage & Live Events) developed audience engagement graphics for pre-show game segments shown at NDP rehearsals, National Education Shows and the parade itself. Seeing audiences interact with their work gave them a firsthand appreciation of how creative content can bring people together and enhance the celebration experience!

Through these projects, our students had the opportunity to apply their skills on a national platform while gaining an insider's view of the teamwork, resilience and commitment that bring Singapore's biggest birthday celebration to life.
