From Kickabouts to Community ⚽
As the FIFA World Cup quarter-finals capture the world’s attention, we’re reminded that football is more than just a game. It brings people together, sparks joy and creates a sense of belonging.
At Canberra Secondary, that same spirit lives on through our Football Interest Group. Officially launched this year, its roots trace back to the teacher and student-led after-school kickabouts in 2025. We listened to our students, recognised their passion and gave it room to grow.
Today, every session is about more than football. It’s about friendships, respect, teamwork and discipline. We’re grateful to our partner coaches and match officials, who mentor our students not just as footballers, but as young people of character.
This is only the beginning. Here’s to nurturing passions, amplifying student voice and creating opportunities for every student to belong, grow and thrive—one game at a time. ⚽💙
