💭 The recent posts by EveryChild.SG — “Hurt Children Hurt Children” — helped us pause and reflect as parents.

Bullying can be confusing and painful — for the child who is hurt, the child whose actions caused harm, the bystanders, and for us as parents watching it unfold. Often, children act out from unmet needs or inner struggles. Seeing these situations through a compassionate lens helps us respond in ways that support growth, empathy, and emotional resilience.

In this carousel, we share reflections and practical steps parents can take — whether your child is on the receiving end, the one causing harm, a bystander, or navigating this with their teacher. 🌱

💛 How do you hold space for your child in these moments? What helps them learn empathy and responsibility while still feeling safe and supported? Share with us in the comments.

✨ If you’d like to dive deeper into practical tools for guiding children with kindness and firmness, our 6-week Positive Discipline course starts this October. Learn more here: https://www.chapterzero.org/events/nurturing-relationship-with-positive-discipline-oct-2025

✨Empowered Relationships With Your Tweens and Teens✨

Are you finding it challenging to connect with your teen? Do you want to bridge the generation gap and strengthen your relationship?

Join us for a transformative 6-week in-person workshop where we'll equip you with Positive Discipline principles and tools to invite problem-solving, cooperation, independence, and respectful communication.

📅 Dates: 21 Sep - 26 Oct 2024 (6 consecutive Saturdays)
🕙 Time: 10am - 1pm SGT (GMT+8); *2pm-5pm on 28 Sep
📍 Venue: 9 Bishan Place, Junction 8 Office Tower #08-03, Singapore 579837

💖 Here’s what our past participants have to say:

"The workshop is thorough and has a good balance of theory, role play and experiential learning. It reaffirms my belief that Positive Discipline is not permissive. It is about being kind and firm/respectful at the same time. All of the tools that are provided in this course can support the healthy growth and development of our teens/tweens."
~ Aminah, mother of 2

"Sophia is an excellent facilitator; she really makes participants feel at ease in voicing out our opinion and we can share our problems without having to worry about being judged by other participants. I like the fact that she shares her own experiences and incidences which she had with her own kids, and as such she was able to give us practical tips and how she dealt with the issues using Positive Discipline strategies which she advocates. I strongly encourage parents with teen/pre-teen to attend this course."
~ Noelle, mother of 2

Teaching teens money management is challenging. This hit home when my 17yo asked for a raise in his allowance. We’ve been giving him a monthly allowance not tied to chores, inspired by Positive Discipline’s view of allowance and the book “The Opposite of Spoiled” by Ron Lieber.

During his early teen years, he spent most of his money on games and quickly ran out. Now, with a relationship, he sees the need to save. We’ve started tracking his expenses together, using receipts and a money management app, with weekly check-ins for accountability.

My 13yo, on the other hand, is more careful with her money and even started a crochet business to earn extra income.

Allowances not tied to chores let teens make mistakes and learn while the stakes are low. We can’t expect them to be wise with money as soon as they become adults—remember splurging your first paycheck?

If you want to learn more tools to support your teens’ life skills, join our 6-week Empowered Relationships with Your Tweens and Teens Positive Discipline workshop in September. Check our link in bio to sign up!

ℹ️ Positive Discipline Parenting Tools shared are based on Positive Discipline Parenting Tool Cards by Jane Nelsen and Adrian Garsia.

📣 Don’t miss this opportunity to build a stronger relationship with your teens and tweens!
