Ngee Ann Polytechnic's very own Malay Cultural Club, aspires to spread and uphold the Malay culture through Dikir Barat, Drama, Dance and Debate.
Ngee Ann Polytechnic's Malay Cultural Club (MCC) was established in 1999 with 2 active departments; Paduka (Dikir Barat boys) and Warisan Mandling (Dance). We have grown into a much larger organization with the incorporation of Sri Nadi (Drama) in 2003, Adiratna(Girl's Dikir team) in 2004 and Cendekiawan (Debate/Language) in 2007. The the Warisan Mandling Dance group has taken the name 'XPDTari',
while the guys Dikir group made a brand new debut in 2013 as 'Satria Sukma'. We started as a small cluster of passionate people interested in Malay Culture, but have grown in giant strides into a large family of ~80 members. We aim to promote Malay culture in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, through our frequent gatherings and performances. During gatherings, we are mostly preoccupied with planning for events and training. One of our more well known displays would be the MCC Showcase & Freshmen Orientation Camp where we welcome the new batch of freshmen at the start of every year. MCC also organises major events such as 'Piala Khatulistiwa', a dikir barat competition, and 'Dinamis Seni', a theatre production showcasing different departments in MCC, which occurs biennially on alternate years. We meet from 6.30-9pm on the following days:
Mondays(Adiratna)
Tuesdays(XPDtari)
Wednesdays(Satria Sukma)
Fridays(Sri Nadi)
Our Club Room is at: Seventy3 #01-34.
