This project was inspired by the MRT Ballet Girl, who suffered disgraceful and sexually offensive comments after her photo went viral, people stalked her and she was forced to remove her photos and delete her social media accounts.

We are performers. No dancer should ever have to hide her face behind hair and shades for doing what she loves.

The message is: Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime.

Dance is an art of the fleeting moment. It appears on stage for a brief moment and disappears forever. Our bodies which we work so hard to master will not retain its ability forever. And yet we have so little to capture and memorialise our proudest work with. Photos and videos may document the movements but they will never fully convey the energy and life force that is dance.

Just because we use our bodies does not mean we're sexual. Just because it's not in a studio does not mean it's not dance. Just because it can be done by anyone does not mean it's not art.

If we want Singapore's arts scene to flourish and catch up with the world standard, then it begins here. With the culture and public perspective. Arts is a lifestyle and Anyone should be able to express themselves Anywhere, at Anytime.

Simply snap a dance photo in a public space. Snap it with your phone, your compact cam or a DSLR, with your friends or by yourself, be it a simple retire passe while waiting for the traffic light to turn green or a backflip off the Merlion. Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime. Just remember not to be a public nuisance =P

SEND YOUR PHOTOS TO:
