Bedok Green Primary School received a heartwarming compliment from a member of the public about one of our Primary 3 students, Hins Pang!
On the afternoon of 30 July, Hins noticed an elderly lady who had fallen at the void deck of Block 718, Bedok Reservoir Road. He immediately went over to help her up and thoughtfully checked on her well-being.
The member of the public was deeply touched by Hins’ kindness, care and concern. His readiness to help brought her comfort and reassurance, prompting her to write in to compliment Hins and the school on his thoughtful act.
To recognise Hins for exemplifying our school’s values of compassion and respect, our Principal, Mr Yong, affirmed him during our National Day celebrations and presented him with a special Principal’s Commendation Button.
Well done, Hins! Thank you for embodying our school’s values and our vision of raising Persons of Strength and Character.

Between 5th and 7th of August, Bedok Green Primary School came alive with excitement as our school celebrated Singapore’s 61st National Day through a vibrant lineup of activities centered around this year’s theme, "Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond!"
During recess, students stepped back in time at our nostalgic Mobile Mama Shop, where they received free retro toys reminiscent of Singapore’s kampung days. They also unleashed their creativity by coloring 12 iconic Singapore landmarks, sang their favorite National Day songs alongside our Principal, Mr. Yong, teachers, and parent volunteers, and tested their knowledge of Singapore with an interactive quiz on iPads.
The celebrations continued in the classrooms, where students enjoyed a selection of traditional local snacks, giving them a taste of Singapore’s rich heritage.
A special highlight of the day was the National Day concert, where Bedok Green Primary School warmly welcomed seniors from the Bedok Sunflower Residents' Committee. The audience was treated to an entertaining showcase featuring energetic dances, patriotic songs, and a captivating Guzheng performance. Our talented students, teachers, parent volunteers, and even our Principal joined in the performances, making it a truly heartwarming celebration across generations.
More than just a day of festivities, the celebrations gave our students the opportunity to reflect on Singapore’s remarkable journey over the past 61 years and to appreciate the values of resilience, unity, and progress that have shaped our nation. As we celebrate Singapore’s achievements, we are reminded that every BGPian has a part to play in building an even brighter future. Together, let us continue to Go Beyond and make Singapore proud. Happy Birthday, Singapore!
