Great Joint Public Lecture with Enrico Ille, and Johan Brosché on Oil, Gold, and War in Sudan. Many people attended this last public event Uppsala University's Forum for Africa Studies, at least in Uppsala.

Most welcome to tomorrow’s joint public lecture with Ille, University of Leipzig, and Johan Brosché, Uppsala University, on Oli, Gold, and War in . Two specialists will engage in a conversation related to the external and internal forces involved in the political and security turmoil. The lecture is particularly relevant given the current court case on Lundin Oil in Sweden.

AFRICA DAYS 2026 in Stockholm
Yesterday, a team from Uppsala University's Forum for Africa Studies, and South Africa- Sweden University Forum - SASUF attended the celebrations of the Africa Days jointly hosted by 22 African Embassies in Stockholm. The event took place at the House of Egypt. Interesting encounters in the midst of speeches, music, flags, food, and sunshine.

Uppsala Africa Days 2026 held in Uppsala 21-22 May in collaboration with SLU and The Nordic Africa Institute helped to deepen both the understanding of Africa's complex and dynamic role in the world today and of Uppsala as a hub for African studies.

✨ Uppsala Africa Days 2026 ✨ started today!
This conference brings together Uppsala University, SLU and the The Nordic Africa Institute as a milieu for Africa Studies. I was also happy to see KTH Global Development Hub, Erika Svensson Rössner, and Stockholms universitet's Paula Uimonennwith us, and even a rep from Karolinska Institutet, showing that moving "towards transformative collaborations" (the conference theme) begins at home!
