The Medical Master Council (MMC) at Uppsala University The Medical Master Council (MMC) belongs to the Medical Section of Uppsala Student Union.

We represent each of the ten highly competitive master programs at the Medical Faculty of Uppsala University. The MMC facilitates communication between students and program administrators. We also organize events to strengthen the medical master community and open career opportunities. The master programs we represent are:

🎓 For the upcoming graduation gasque, MMC is organizing a small spex (theatrical play), and we are looking for volunteers who would like to participate!
🎬No acting experience is required, just bring your enthusiasm!
🎭It will be a small, light-hearted performance, rehearsals will be minimal and it will not take much of your time.
💐It's a great chance to be part of something memorable!

Semla Day (called Fettisdagen in Sweden) is celebrated on Shrove Tuesday, the day before Lent. The date changes each year and usually falls in February or March.
The tradition centers around the semla, a soft cardamom bun filled with almond paste and whipped cream, topped with powdered sugar. It is also enjoyed in Finland, Norway, and Denmark.
Historically, it was the last chance to eat rich foods before the Lent fast. A traditional version called hetvägg is served in warm milk.
A famous story says King Adolf Frederick died in 1771 after eating 14 semlor.
Today, people enjoy many modern variations, making it a popular and much-loved Nordic food tradition.
