Advancing Our Digital Strategy 🤖🇪🇺
We are thrilled to share that MG was represented at the recent training course, "SIDE of Intelligence 2.0 - Awareness, Ethics, and the Human Factor in AI," held in Side, Türkiye.
This project is a vital part of the SIDE BY SIDE two-year strategic framework, dedicated to ensuring that as AI evolves, youth work remains human-centered. Our participation focused on:
✅ Ethical Literacy: Understanding the social, safety, and inclusion implications of AI.
✅ Micro-Method Development: Testing and refining practical AI tools to empower the young people we serve.
✅ Policy and Quality: Contributing to a "Practical Guide for Responsible AI Use" and a "Quality Charter" for digital youth work.
Highlights of the Week:
Peer-to-Peer Excellence: Our representative benefited from high-level workshops facilitated by experienced participants, providing deep technical and pedagogical insights.
Innovation in Action: We loved the custom-made AI Treasure Hunt! It was a brilliant example of how non-formal learning and AI can create immersive educational experiences.
Building the Network: We didn’t just learn; we acted! We are proud to announce that we’ve secured several new collaborations and future project proposals with international partners.
A huge thank you to Euroactive for their incredible organization and for the warm hospitality. We are ready to bring these "Caring, Sharing, and Doing" values back to our local community!

🌏 The Human Side of Intelligence: Learning, Reflecting, and Moving Forward Together 🤖✨
From 5 to 13 December 2026, colleagues from MG Sustainable Engineering had the exciting opportunity to participate in an Erasmus+ Professional Development training course on Artificial Intelligence, hosted by Euroactive NGO.
This training marked the beginning of “The SIDE of Intelligence”, a long-term Erasmus+ initiative within the strategic framework SIDE by SIDE – The Human Factor in the Age of AI (2025–2027). The programme connects professional development activities, youth exchanges, and innovation labs across Europe, creating a continuous and collaborative learning journey.
During the course, participants explored how AI, digital transformation, and emerging technologies are reshaping our work, research practices, and future directions. Key focus areas included:
· Critical thinking and ethical reflection around AI
· Conscious and responsible use of AI tools
· Understanding both the possibilities and limitations of AI
· Applying AI effectively in professional and research contexts
Beyond technical skills, the programme offered a rich space for dialogue, peer learning, and international exchange.
A big thank you to Euroactive NGO and the Erasmus+ programme for initiating this meaningful journey. We look forward to applying these insights to our work, engaging critically and responsibly with AI as part of sustainable, future-orientated practice.

We’re proud to announce that Solarthermalworld featured our workshop in their latest article, “Industrial Heat Decarbonisation: Political Vision versus Market Reality.”
How can research and innovation help tackle the tough challenge of decarbonising industrial heat?
That’s the question we explored during the Research on Solar Heat for Industrial Processes in the Nordics (SHIP4Nordics) workshop, which our team at MG Sustainable Engineering organised together with DTU - Technical University of Denmark earlier this year.
The two-day event brought together experts from the International Energy Agency (IEA) Solar Heating and Cooling Programme, Absolicon Solar Collector AB, and Aalborg CSP A/S for insightful discussions on standardisation, electrification, and how to make solar process heat a practical solution for industry.
It’s great to see these conversations gaining attention. They’re exactly what’s needed to move from political ambition to on-the-ground progress.

Yesterday, Mälardalen University hosted the Resilient Annual Workshop 2025 at Uppsala University, where leading experts from academia, industry, and the public sector came together to discuss the next chapter of resilient energy systems.
Our colleagues João Gomes and Damu Murali got to witness and be involved in discussions that were focused on the proposal for extending the Competence Centre with an additional 5-year RESILIENT period starting in 2027.
It was a great opportunity to exchange insights, learn from ongoing RESILIENT projects, and contribute ideas for strengthening Sweden’s and Europe’s path towards a secure and sustainable energy future.
A big thank you to the organisers and partners for fostering such collaborative dialogue and vision. 💡

🌍 Today, on World Ozone Day, let’s remember that small changes in our daily choices can make a big difference in protecting our planet’s shield, the ozone layer.
💡 Simple actions like:
🌱 Using Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC)-free products
🌱 Choosing sustainable cosmetics to aerosols
🌱 Walking, cycling, or using public transport
…all help reduce ozone-depleting emissions and build a healthier future. 💚
