First Swedish National team tryouts about to begin.

The official results are out, so now we can make official comments. 😄

At the recent European shinsa, Sweden sent a total of ten applicants - five for sandan, four for yondan, and one for rokudan. Out of these ten, five passed - two sandan, two yondan, and one rokudan - a national pass rate of 50%. Not bad!

Furthermore, out of the five persons given the nod, no less than four were Issha members - one sandan, two yondan, and one rokudan. Which means that four out of the six participating Issha members passed - a testament to the high quality of instruction in the dojo, as well as to the dedication of all its members and instructors.

Nya grader i kyudo! I april hölls IKYF 2026 Special Overseas Provisional Chuo Shinsa in Europe i Wien i Österrike för 3–4 dan och i Frankfurt i Tyskland för kandidater till 3 - 6 dan. Sverige deltog med totalt fem kandidater till sandan, fyra kandidater till yondan och en kandidat till rokudan. Ett stort grattis ...

At the recent European shinsa for sandan to rokudan, no less than four Issha members found favour with the judges and came home with new grades. This Friday was the first time that all four successful candidates were together in the dojo, so it was made into a special day.

First, the lucky ones performed a mochimato sharei. For the new sandan, it was his very first time, but he pulled it off brilliantly.

The day was also proclaimed a kimono day, so everybody could dress in their finest.

For the fika break (Google it!), George had made us a delicious mato cake which was enjoyed by all.

The club now has a new sandan in George, while Christine and Fredrik both passed their yondan tests. Lastly, Knut passed his rokudan test, and thereby became the first Swede to ever reach that rank.

The membership numbers are steadily increasing, and we do our best to match it by growing and educating the instructor pool. Seeing the results of this shinsa gives great hope for continued success into the future.

At the coming video shinsa in September, we hope to get our great batch of impressively talented beginners up the first steps of the ladder.
