The Station of Being has been nominated today, together with two other outstanding works, for the London Design Museum Beazley Designs of the year!

This project has been realised at RISE in collaboration with Rombout Frieling Lab and Umeå Institute of Design for the city of Umeå in 2019 and has changed the perception of waiting for the bus into a safe and pleasurable experience, encouraging the use of public transport.

‘Citizen participation is becoming increasingly important in urban planning. Co-creation is a popular tool to structure this process, supporting stakeholders in cooperatively developing opinions and perspectives towards a shared future. In urban planning, however, co-creation risks becoming too abstract and complex. “What’s going Ön?” investigates an experiential, embodied approach to participation in urban planning. Idag anordnar RISE en spännande virtuell designworkshop. Workshoppen är en del av projektet “Vindkraft designad för lokal social hållbarhet” och leds av Tanja Tränkle. Den är framtagen av och .papworth, experter inom Transformative Practices.

Målet är att samskapa och prototypa konstruktiva förslag i riktning att forma lokal och social hållbarhet i samband med vindkraftparker i Sverige. Vi syftar specifikt till att utarbeta förslag för alternativa möjligheter till att återföra hållbara värden till bygden, både inom och utöver monetära system.

For this purpose, we need tools that support our daily activities and help us creating a new normal that is human and sustainable. We have designed the Transformative Practices activity compass.
